Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory 2 - any chances?

most sounds editors use vst and dx effects, none of them have a rack you can chain vst/dx effects together, you have to apply each effects 1 by 1 in the same order each time to each sample

I have been using Fruity Loops for years and even more often nowadays, now that I am associated with music and I must agree it is a great program. Although the program Nail mentions (Krystal) will do the job at hand perfectly.

(king_troll) #143

fruity loops is a god

(Nail) #144

you can rack 3 vst effects on the output of Krstal and 2 on each input

(king_troll) #145

its not a proper sound editor like soundforge etc

(Nail) #146

Like I said, I use Pro Tools HD w/3 slots of DSP. I do strictly audio recording and processing, no composition

everyone has their preferences, the Pro Tools rig is more than I need for most jobs and I find Krystal more than adequate for small jobs

works out ok because at the moment the Pro Tools rig is set up at my buddy’s and he’s in Australia with Propagandhi

Hardly, it’s a simplistic step sequencer with very little recording functionality and imo a very annoying UI. (I use Cubase 5 and soon 6)

But that’s entirely off topic. It would be interesting doing some audio work for a game, never done that before.

You guys still looking for 3D artists?

its not simplistic, it is pure power where you can automate everything, steps are what all music is made of. steps are bars on the playlist, steps on the beatsequencer and the bars, along with tnth notes -> http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/e1ae5bac13.jpg, you dont need recording wav file fruity, you record midi inputs onto a beat sequencer channel, and use the channel for hardware or vsti output, the only down fall of fruity is not having parametric automation event graphs on vsts, like you get on samples in the sample window

cubuse is simplistic and for highskools and cant do bars, tempo = pitch and will change all sample levels

Nice to see that some peoples has started working on W:ET2 on their selves.
If you need testers:) Then you know who to ask:D

Who you mean?

(Pegazus) #152

If the Total Conversion for Quake Wars gets into progress then prefarrably yes. The following days will sort the question out.

(Shownie) #153

So W: ET2 is going to be built upon the QUAKE Wars? Will it cost money then?

(Pegazus) #154

It is too early to think about that yet. Hopefully it will be free ofcourse, that is what this community was built on.

(Bloodbite) #155

put me down as an artist potentially interested in contributing to this… if it becomes serious, and if time permits when it kicks off.

(Shanks) #156

Who said anything about a Quake Wars mod? We’ve been talking about creating it using the source code for the W:ET engine which, of course, would be free.

(Pegazus) #157

I have been talking to some artist about the idea of Total Conversion for Quake Wars. We see it as a great opportunity to make the new W:ET on it.

@Bloodbite
I will send you a PM for futher discussion.

(king_troll) #158

most of the thread is about a TC quakewars mod that would be W:ET 2/or just TC remake of W:ET

(Shownie) #159

Don’t think you can base ET 2 on QUAKE Wars… how will you make it free?

(king_troll) #160

a total conversion mod = free, new models/maps/weapons/a bit of code for weapons and player models

everything you need already exists in quakewars SDK, most of the work would be done by mappers and modellers if you want to remake W:ET, and ask and see if you can use the original vocal sounds
