got my code on the 12th and price is down woo!! GAME rulez
Play.com (United Kingdom Reseller)
Thanks for the info, just cancelled my play.com order and preordered from game
Is game still only sending out codes once a week though?
That’s what it says on the web-site. I figure waiting six days, is probably still going to be faster than waiting for Play.com to pull their finger out
I just got this from Play.com:
After further investigation we can confirm that all codes regarding this
game will be sent out within the next 7 working days.We hope this information asnwers your query and we sincerely apologise for
any confusion and inconvenience caused.Thank you for your patience and valued custom.
Kind Regards
Play
And my response:
Thanks for the response, as Play.com are aware of this element of false advertising was being discussed on the game developers official forums: http://splashdamage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16376
I’ve now cancelled my Play.com order, and I’ve opted for a competitor. Thanks for your time.
Everyone say, “Cheese!”
May aswell pre-order from Game aswell, then see who sorts the code out first and cancel from the loser.
Sod’s Law states that pre-order [sic] registration codes are like buses. They should both arrive at the same time
Looks like Game have decided to lower there price for the game to £26.99 so ill be pre-ordering from them as well, not only for the fact that play dont seen to know what there doing atm but the fact that play wont even let me order the game.

I had another email from Activision Support:
Further to your correspondence of 12 April 2007 The pre-order codes have definitely been passed on to the retailers now. We have had confirmation from customers that they have received codes so this is now a retail issue. The Play website itself mentions the pre-order code - http://www.play.com/Games/PC/4-/1011934/-/Product.html?searchstring=quake+wars&searchsource=0 I would advise that you contact play again, and possibly ask to speak to a supervisor. It may simply be a case of miscommunication within their departments.
I spoke to Connor at play.com, he asked his supervisor and they still don’t have the codes - he says they expect to get them on Monday.
I’m going to order from Game and see what happens.
I spoke to him earlier in the week, he didn’t have a clue what these code things were (after checking with sup) and suggested I’d get them when the game is released
Hopefully it was my contact with the referrals department that seems to have given them a kick up the arse, I had to direct the women to the enemyterritory webby to see the offer - I also suggested that they vist here as they aint getting good PR ATM
I say they give everyone who has posted in this thread a free copy otherwise they continued to get bad mouthed which will eventually lead them to bankrupacy!
Well just added my order with Game, and will cancel with however fails to send me a key first.
Game on!
Probably end up receiving it from Game, they seem to be alittle more on the ball.
What are pre-orders like from Game? When do they usually arrive (using the free delivery option)
I tend to use Gameplay, so I know they arrive on the Wednesday when the release day is usually the Friday.
i use game for all my games but i dont use free delivery i always use nxt day so carnt help you there
Just preordered from GAME - how long does it normally take to receive the reg code?
On the website it says they only send them out once a week, don’t know if that’s a just to cover them or not. But hopefully by the end of the week, you should have one, and so should I.
i would just like to know why play.com and game both of which are on the front page of etqw’s have different release dates!!! you’d think they’d know
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (PC) [25-May-2007] thats what game say as of 15/4/05
