Hi all,

Yes, I think it warranted a new thread :wink: Having reserved a copy of ETQW with Play.com a few days ago. I’d still not received a registration code. So I gave Play.com a call (spoke to Steve) and he was a bit confused, as they’re unaware of it. We walked through the registration site, he contacted his Buyers, and they said they had no codes, and they’d probably release them when the game was out… That kind of contradicts the whole point.

I then called Activision, and spoke to Kevin Fryers. He agreed, that Play.com obviously have it a bit wrong, and that United Kingdom should not be missing out on any registration which is currently happening. The registration site is due to go live at the start of April, and codes should be distributed at that time. He’s also going to call Play.com, and re-communicate the plan.

So if you’ve reserved a copy from Play.com. It may just be a case of waiting for a week before jumping up and down :slight_smile:

Yeah nice one there, I’ve had my copy ‘pre-ordered’ from play.com for about a month now so I kind of guessed they wasn’t aware of the registration codes when they were announced but it’s nice now that they have been made aware of them, those this mean I should re-pre-order it or will they amend all pre-orders when the time comes?

Kevin said that Play.com would (or should) honour all existing pre-orders [sic], with the pre-order bonus. I guess he’ll communicate that with them too :slight_smile:

Many thanks yibble, I’ve also pre-ordered at play.com. Guess we wait till April then perhaps re-pre-order if reg codes for existing pre-orders are not forth-coming.

That’s what our American friends seem to be telling us. Looks like Actvision EMEA is a little out of sync’ with Activision NA.

actually it’s only partly live.

you can put in your info into the ‘initial reservation page’. and then you receive an email telling you that your tag is reserved but not activated, which contains a link to ‘activate’ it when you get a cdkey. that actvation link currently says

Thank you for pre-ordering and registering your game name tag for Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars™. Your game name is reserved, but to complete the process you will need to associate your game tag to a retail CD Key. This feature is not yet active. Please come back to this page on game launch day to complete this process.

But if you pre-ordered the regular version why you should get the Collectors Edition pre-order bonus (pre-reg key, the cards and poster)?

The pre-order [sic] bonus does not appear to be limited to the Collector’s Edition.

As far as I know I agree with yibble. The reg-key, cards and poster are NOT the Collectors Edition. They are just bonuses for pre-ordering.

k, re-readed the press release, seems that bonus offer really is for all pre-orders, not just Collectors edition.

Have i missed the boat on something here. I havnt been on this site for a few weeks mainly because i havnt heard any new news on quake wars in ages.

So let me get this. I pre order QW and get a registration code at the beginning of april yea?

i think its a nice touch for them to reward the et dedicated fanbase :slight_smile:

ok well i ordered my copy back in january from game.co.uk when i noticed that about the bonus stuff i thought id send them a email to ask if i will be getting the stuff,heres the reply

I cannot see any particular offers available with this title at this moment in time, however should such an offer become available, it will be posted here. I am sorry that I cannot be more specific at this moment in time.

well wot can i say i think i will have to do wot yibble did and ring activision and Game to see wot happening like u said UK might be behind/trouble with the registration codes, i will see when i ring them and post the info i get
