If someone is willing to try at SD and Hardware is a problem, maybe Apple could help you out. The guys at TeamSpeak were given some Hardware to aid their Port. The question is are SD intrested? Remember money!! Most mac users would be willing to pay.

I can’t profess to understanding half the things you guys are on about (ie Programming stuff etc.) BUT I do know I love a good game on the mac. I’ve played nearly ALL the FPS there are, RTCW, MoHAA, Ghost Recon, UT TacOps (in a clan for this one) and have now taken to WWII Online. Needless to say if ET came out I’d love it. And I’m sure I’m not the only one. In my TacOps clan there are a few Mac users and obviously when I play in clan matches I hear of other Mac users. So I think it should be said, and loudly, THERE IS A MAC GAMING COMMUNITY OUT THERE!! I just wish developers would realise this…

just a short note: I tried Wolf Tactics – it’s the contrary to improving gameplay in RTCW Multiplayer. Very sad. It all sounded very nice and yes, they did a lot of work. But after playing WT for about 45 minutes, I left the game and deleted that mod. Better play Quake 3 Arena then… :frowning:

There will always be people who do not like the Fortress/WT/Rtcw style of play, we knew this before starting on the mod.

Unfortunately, there will be some like you who give crit without constructing a view to why ‘it sucks’. If you dont like the style of play, then thats fine - go some place else. Try telling the people who like (and love) the mod that it sucks, and they will give you mouthfulls of information as to why in their view, they like the mod (or think it has promise).

And we have not once said that we will be improving RtCW gameplay, thats where people have got this wrong. WT is different, and must be treated so - dont try to play RtCW on wt.

Saying u played for 45 mins, left, and then ‘play q3a’ does not give me any information as to why you hate it. But as with most people who do hate it, you probably jsut do not like the fortress style elements that we have brought forward, and this i respect.

Sorry. No offense meant! I also coded the OS 9 DLL Switcher for WT - before even trying out the game itself…

As I said, you did a LOT of work on that mod - and I’m the last one not to honor that. It’s just that - in this thread, in this forum - we are trying to get ET to the Mac. If then a mod is mentioned to be an alternative to ET, I have high hopes and in addition, some kind of anticipation. But WT cannot be compared to ET at all - IMHO. ET improves the team + objective based MP game of RTCW - WT does something different. You are right, it’s more like Team Fortress - but in comparison to RTCW, that’s a step back. At least if you consider ET to be a step forward. It’s TACTICS that I miss in WT - in comparison to the original RTCW. Again - IMHO - I’d think “Wolf Havoc” would have been a name more fitting.

Today, my favorite RTCW-community (=CFC= switched to ET, and RTCW will be run on a limited server.

So I guess the time has come ET will more and more take the place of RTCW. This is on the one hand a positive evolution, since ET brings so much more to the game, but on the other hand many people are left in the cold. You probably know which people I’m talking about.

So here’s my last request to the developpers (who seem to ignore me in this thread): PLEASE give us SOMETHING (comment on this thread, or maybe THE Mac-version :D). But please SOMETHING… I cant “live” without RTCW, and when my favorite RTCW servers dissapear, I’d like to be up-to-date and play ET… Please guys, the Mac community ain’t bad people… Just because we use superior computers don’t mean we have to be left in the cold :bump: (kidding)

(if you wanna play with the big boys you need to have big boy toys, get rid of the macs)
