xps 600 is last years model, and I think they were using single card Renegades
xps 700 is this years version, remember guys these are the new Alienwares

Sure it would work with a Pentium D processor but why spend a lot of money on a processor that is inferior to anything else out there? If money is a concern and you want to get as much processing power for the money as possible I would go with the Intel Core 2 Duo E6300. It’s up there fighting with the AMD FX-62 though not a clear winner but a lot cheaper.

Anyway here’s a review of the Intel Core 2 Duo and how good it is compared to anything else on the market today: http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2795

Lanz there is no way i can get a core 2 duo with a 600 b/c u cant customize the computers in the outlet, so i guess ill just have to stick with the p D processor. thx for the info thought, and i ask again would a 256 MB nVidia GeForce 7900GS work as a good video card

#107

Yes, it’s a good choice, but… I don’t know how you feel about ATI, but I’d go for Radeon X1900 GT if I liked ATI. And it wouldn’t also be a bad idea to wait for the first DX10 cards; that’s what I still think.

I know from experience that the early 7900 based cards have not been very stable (recently recieved my 2nd card back from manafacturer) im not 100% if they have fixed the problems with them but there are a couple of options i would look into.

If you are thinking of running SLI then at prestent i would look at the 7600gt cards ( i have one as a spare and its a fantastic little card) the other thing is wait for the next generation of cards to be released which many be a little way off at the momnet :frowning: and finally if your dont mind ati and are not bothered about sli then take a look at the formentioned x1900xt or xtx.

(kareem3210) #109

would it work though

(kareem3210) #110

the guy at dell told me they would be good for intense gaming

(kareem3210) #111

angel said: If you are thinking of running SLI then at prestent i would look at the 7600gt cards

wat of it wasnt a sli card.

(kareem3210) #112

i mean Sli tech 7900 GS card

(kareem3210) #113

omg, i meen what if the 7900 wasnt with SLI tech (sometimes i dont get myself)

You know, the edit button has a purpose…

OMG its the ramblings of a mad man heheheh

I run the 7600gt as a single card and it really worked well bf2142 beta looked and played nice, GRAW ran sweet aswell, coh2 also nice i didnt check the frame rates but as i said its a sweet little card and should run most games at present with out much problem.

The 7900gt card i now have back is not working in sli either its fairly quiet and performs much better than the 7600gt but the 7900 (old versions) are prone to failure i.e rips/tears and all kinds of artifacts popping up on screen during games.

Im sure the game will run on both of these cards but if you have any doubt then wait till the spec are released then you know just where you stand and what you need.

(kareem3210) #116

lol, YEA WAT ABOUT THE NEW INTEL XEON

(kareem3210) #117

oh and thanks for the info about the rips and tears in the screen, but you know this ripping MAY not happen

Kareem3210 you are obviously posting in thie topic as to attract attention… you have been given plenty of good answers as to what you should do for a computer to play ET:QW. I suggest that you either go out and buy a computer from a company like alienware, falcon northwest, or dell, or better yet have a custom system buit for you by a local shop. You dont understand anything about hardware and are seriously annoying those that try to answer your questions. Please dont ask questions about things you either cannot or refuse to understand.

(kareem3210) #119

alright srry, its just i dont want to go out and buy a comp that wont work. im also very confused because the dell guys told me something different so i dont know who to believe but ok ill stop
