To test this, set up xbox live and play halo 2 with stereotypical 12 year olds. Say you are female in game, and record their behavior. Then say you are a dude then record their behavior.
I’ve heard of females playing halo 2. No complaints from them. So who the hell cares about female models. Probably only a small percentage care anyway. Even though you have a dude “outer shell”, you are still a female inside. While you are sitting at your seat near the computer screen, you don’t suddenly turn into a dude just because the character you play is a dude.
I play allies field ops in wolf ET and I don’t think I’m black.
Just think of it this way. You are controlling an existing character in the GDF or strogg army. That character isn’t you. It is that nameless character you play as, like the doomguy or halo master chief.
There are females willing to play as dudes and they don’t throw a fit over that. If you want female models, then go do a protest to the SD offices complete with an army and picket signs.
Don’t forget that all models must be the same size and proportion just to be fair. Look at Tank Jr and Slash from Quake 3. You can hit Tank Jr, and miss. You can miss Slash by a bit, then score a hit. All Q3 models are based of sarge and we all know tank jr is larger than sarge while slash is way smaller.
What’s the point, you can’t see yourself, you can only see other models for other players and if they happen to be female, it will probably be a dude inside anyway. Why not just make them all dudes? I guess covert ops makes the great female because of the slim design and easier concealment behind narrow objects.
