EA report: they will lose 800 million on it (but it took between 10-20 million to put it on shelves). Make that one make sense.
I wonder if they know the difference between “lose” and “just not gain”.

yeah I did at my neigbour and i would say: GTA3 New York 1945… The graphics just look like GTA3… Gameplay has loads of it and also many other things show not much difference in my eyes from a short view 9only played 30 mins)

Last thing I thought was , ET-QW is going to be out about that time (Fall 2006), I know which one I’m buying.
The real question is, do you think ET-QW will come out about the same time as this Battlefield 2142 (Hmmm, sounds like competition :D)? :lol:

ED209 is the greatest walker ever made for any movie or game! EVER! Amazing design, no one ever got close to that stylish, cute yet massive and powerful killing machine.

not really. ET:QW will be released when it’s done, it would also be delayed if it wouldn’t be finished. BF2142 will be released when there’s the chance for the most money, i.e. october/november, no matter whether it’s done or not.

with Vista being delayed till January 2007, I think alot of publishers and hardware manufacturers are likely to be a bit chuffed at missing the Xmas/holiday sales bonanzas

btw: is directx 10 vista exclusive? i’m asking because if it is, then EA will bite into their asses because they couldn’t release crysis before christmas

About DX10 and HALO> …some reports say HALO2 and other reports say HALO3. Well which is it ?
(HALO2 with MP and a level editor sounds about right.)
Hopefully they’ll re-skin that suit before release. Yeck.

There will no doubt be independent mods for BF2 that will be ALOT better than Betafield2; BF2142 is based upon the BF2 engine with hardly any tweaks as I understand it.
Eva05, when it comes to shooting in BF2, theres something theyve implemented called Random Deviation…
What is clear though, is that theyre fronting this among other reasons to meet the competition from Quake Wars, which looks to become an awesome game. But there also seems to be an underestimation of EA here too, combined with lacking efforts from Splash Damage and their partners. EAs marketing devition obviously has more money than their develpoment devitions, but it achives results, they attract gamers, who buy the game and play it, be it in sheer ignorance of other and better games, or simpley that they already bought it and therefore play it and stick with it too long. Now, this combined with the silence from the developers of QW, and their uninspiering and fairly empty site - which is anything but updated with tempting news from the dev etc, will surly play a huge role. It doesnt matter how good a game is, if it doesnt attract enough players it wont be played for a very long time, it will just - die. This is very important for multiplayer games. So, I fear that folks here just simply don`t understand how many potential players BF2142 will be stealing from QW because of this.

A game doesnt just die if the gameplay is good, people will find out about it, play it, and continue playing it.

Any serious gamer who stays in touch with the gaming community will avoid it like the plague. ie the likes of us lot will buy QW, the type who walks into Game or some other high street store and buys a game, plays it, finishes it then moves on will buy BF because their only knowledge of the gaming world are the crappy magazines and tv ads. EA know how to sell a game, unfortunatly they don’t know how to make one.

BF2 is allready losing players… in the beginning there were almost as many BF2 players as there were HL2/CS.S players.
Nowadays it’s about 50% of it…
Funny thing is that ET is still big after all those years…
Lets make a funny assumption:
I now see about 10.000 online ET players and 25.000 BF players…i think the ET players wont switch to BF2 or 2142 but a lot of them will swith to QW.
There are LOADS of current BF2 playes who REALLY dont like the game but play it because there is not much better to play (i am one of them) These players will most likely switch to QW also… So when 2142 and QW are in the stores the majority will go to QW and will give a LOT of publicity to there friends who will then buy it too…
I will start my own publicity/fan site for QW very soon and i WILL compare QW to BF just to burn BF down to the ground. The comming months SD/ID will prolly supply us with more information which should be enough to build sites with attracting content so we can show the world how great this game will be…and how crappy BF is and will be as long as EA is the publischer.

You could try W:ET. 
I appreciate your enthusiasm, but stay correct. If you start a comparison, you should make sure that it’s as unbiased as possible even if that’s hard to do.
