I’m definitely not worried. But what bothers me is the voice in this trailer and the look of it. Seems pretty crappy for a 2007 game (yes, I know it says fall 2006).

Maybe they made this video in 2004 and now it leaked or something. No idea why they would release such a game (if it isn’t a mod/booster pack/expansion/add-on).

Btw, who has to use his head? EA? Me? :huh:

if they trying to launch this quickly to compete with QuakeWars, we should expect this to be worst beta release ever… see BF2

lol, they really are afraid of quake wars. otherwise they wouldn’t rush to release it in fall 2006 :smiley:

i once thought that a cloaked player, where you could see only distorted environment where the player character is, would be good for gameplay in quake wars. but then i thought that this would be similar to a single player who plays sniper all the time. in the video above there is such a cloaked player. looks like they do it as usual: throw everything into one bag and release it without real gameplay mixture. maybe cloaking could be fun if you do it the right way, i don’t have faith that EA will get it right.

how does the gdf covert op get covert in qw btw? anyone knows?

No surprise there, there was another video leaked last month. I couldn’t care less, its isn’t as if its gonna be any good. EA have already announced that they’re buying out the remaining 40 odd percent of the Dice shares meaning they’ll have total control of what shite gets put into it.

the problem with EA is that they aren’t gamorz, they are only businessmen looking for the big money. they recently made a survey about what gamers think of EA n such and the result was a feeling that EA sucks and that they bring out the same games over and over again and that the players want innovative games.

if they were gamers they would have figured it out themselves and wouldn’t have needed that survey …

they bought out the desert combat mod team who made bf1942 playable so they are games. The only thing is though that the first game they had them make was… yes the mod they had just finished with some fancier graphics… As well as bfVietnam and now bf2145. Not to mention the two bf1942 expansion packs

The thing is though they all play exactly the same. Every game has exactly the same feel and are balanced out in the same way so all that changes is the setting. How many times can you sell the same game?

I thought Dice were the ones who bought out the DC team? Dice are definitely gamers - Marauder and I used to play Tribes 2 with one of their environment artists.

Dice may be gamers, but the gameplay of BF and BF2 has always been a bit… silly in my opinion. Because of the ‘sit next to flags for a while’ gameplay it usually turns into a big game of “Team Deathmatch near flags”. I enjoyed Battlefield 2 but it got boring after a few weeks - and I’m still playing W:ET :moo:

If they added ET-style objectives… I might start playing it more often :). (bf2)

It looks bad, they basically made a mod for BF2. You can see even the animations on the soldiers are the same.

IMO its a mod that they are charging for. Will probably have the quality of a mod too. :stuck_out_tongue:

I dont like EA. The only good game company, is id, which bring us quake, doom, and wolf.

Last good game EA brought out was Fifa 99 on the sega mega drive. Trailer looks more like a film than a game
