Don’t know why someone would pay for something unfinished. Would you pay to hear that 10 second clip of a song on amazon? Makes no sense to have to pay to play the beta and then have to pay some more to get the game. If they want you to pay to play the beta make it so people who pre-order to get to beta test, that way they are not only paying to play the beta, but also for the finished game too.

ah cant u ppl understand it. don’t pay if you don’t want to, they are just using ppl who drool to get a glimpse of the game. wouldn’t you do the same?
tho when the beta is released a haxor will make it free, so they wont gain much by that.

ehm, i know these games that can be played ONLINE with a pirated copy:
battlefield 2142
fear
cod2

and many others. i have bf 2142 bought, but i saw that there are lan hamachi servers for online play with pirated copy. yeh well private servers, but whats the dif?

cod2 and fear… my friend has pirated copys of them, both of them are easy to play, dont seemed that any private servers are needed.

these are just the games i have played, heard that cs half life etc can be played with pirated too. actually i dont know of any that CANT be played ONLINE with pirated.

and im not waiting to dl that hacked beta, im a honest person who buys games, and when ppl ask than im called a noob for buying games

I’m spending >$200 to upgrade my system in anticipation of the game…$7 to buy into the beta/pre-demo is nothing in comparison. It’s like all things, what is it worth to you.

Noone if forcing anyone to pay anything if they don’t want to. SD, iD and Activision all have paid employees who are supporting families, spouses, belgian beverage producers and landlords. If they have a business relationship with File Planet that helps them to stay afloat and make better games, I could care less if they make a few extra bucks during the game testing process. File planet has to pay for the bandwidth, which isn’t free. No doubt FP is going to line their pockets with a few extra bucks, but imagine if the game is a 1GB (a conservative estimate, IMO) download for example, times 60,000 users = 60 Terabytes of bandwidth plus or minus a bit. While I think $7 each is a bit steep, the only thing that matters is whether it is worth $7 to you. If not, then just wait for the public demo.

i think there wont be a demo, why should u run with a free game that is half the same as the full version. :evil:

it is just like in some RPG game where you have to pay expensive amounts to get a rare item OR look under numerous rocks to find that item where ratio of the item to the number of rocks is 1 in 1 billion.

I have no problems paying Splash Damage, but I do have a problem paying FilePlanet. A beta would be sweet if we could use the code from our pre-order.

the beta but then again by the time it comes out I be bored of it and it
wouldnt be anything special, where as when it does come out i can see a
day off work :smiley: or i can see a few days been taken by the rest of the

Last I checked, beta testing is working.
If you don’t think so, you’re not a beta tester, you’re the average dipstick that wants to skip the line.
