ehm, i know these games that can be played ONLINE with a pirated copy:
battlefield 2142
fear
cod2

cod2 and fear… my friend has pirated copys of them, both of them are easy to play, dont seemed that any private servers are needed.

First off I had a friend who tried to play COD2 copy online, and it was not easy and he could not readily play it online; he went out and bought the game. The multiplayer part of FEAR is completely free, so I don’t think your friend playing his pirated copy of FEAR is impressive.

and with cod, some servs had cd key errors, but mostly i want to understand what is the basic difference between a private serv and a normal serv. both have much ppl playing, maybe you cant play clanwar or sth.

obviously, your paying for the single player portion of the game (which is worth it as its a good single player game).

similar to comparing RTCW and ET.
