WolfET remasterized!!!

(bytecode) #41
Enemy Territory is the finest FPS ever imho. If you look at the game play speed, classes, objectives and sheer enjoyment of the game then you’d be struggling to beat it. I get totally immersed in ET in a way that QW, Brink, COD or MoH could never achieve.

Immersion is the key word. If you find THAT formula again you’re laughing all the way to a gamer’s heart!

Guaps
totally agree :penguin:

I saw the gameplay-Video, and WoW, amazing, you can see that its more like Wolfenstein ET than any other new game. I would like to play it in the Beta and see a new Masterpiece of FPS Gameplay and Teamplay in a Wolfenstein ET revive !

thanks,

ZeYos

My vote on this guy!!! I’ve played W:ET for a 4 years as a Polish clan member - main engeener (rifle). Since that time there was no other game that require so much skill, teamplay, strategy and tactics. Pure e-sport experience.

I still remember nights spent on mastering Siwa Oasis, Gold Rush, Fueldump and Railgun rifle trickshots :). And all those “f*** y**” on chat after laying down all enemy respawn with one nade :). Honestly… I would still play ET if the Polish scene didn’t die few years ago.
Please make Dirty Bomb very similar to Wolf ET!!! it doesn’t matter the time in the history, the great things about Wolf ET are the missions and classes.

Waiting for a new ET… soon…
You’re asking the wrong people. You should be asking id Software and Nerve.

(Loki.) #45

SD made Wolf:ET

Nerve made RTCW MP <-- the greatest online FPS ever created imo…

so am not sure why, he should be asking ID/Nerve to make DB in the style of W:ET

 (maybe am missing something)

Because Nerve and id made 97% of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. Differences are superficial. W:ET was a free release of id Software’s game of the year.

QFT.

As I said before Brink launch, I would like to see a footage with strafing, circle jumps, shooting while running etc. Unfortunately current videos are more similar to Brink than ET:QW.
First off, we wouldn’t shut off support for one of our older games just because there’s something new coming out. Being gamers ourselves, it’s just not the way we operate as a company.

That said, the Wolf:ET master server is run by id/Bethesda, so that one’s completely beyond our reach.
Drive the tank all the way to a main gate, destroy the gate, get in, steal the server, put it on a truck and drive away! Isn’t that simple?

“They have stolen the Enemy Territory master server! Return the master server!”.

Carefull with throwing airstrikes though, we don’t want the master server to be destroyed.

(Fipoow) #50

Ahh i was hoping for everything like ET was, but after watching the trailer more closely… At one point there is aiming down the sight :frowning:

(Falcon.PL) #51

Don’t worry, we can always repair it.

“The master server destroyed. Repair the master server!”

(jacKfIsher05) #52

Hah, Falcon.PL. That’s true.

If it fails - engineers will come to repair it.

I’m sure that Bethesda/id Software will not shut down the W:ET master server, because one thing - there are thousands of ppls (Count me in too) that still play the game and there’s no point of shutting it down.

I agree with El_Guapo too.

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is one (one? Not one, but it’s the best) of the best Free-2-Play FPS games released to date and everyone who played it knows that.

Aah, and for Dirty Bomb - IMO Dirty Bomb is BRINK 2 with changed name and some other things. Another game similar to Counter-Strike where the only one thing that you must think about is to run-n-gun and nothing more. If you ask me about if I care about the game or not - I don’t care.

So, your saying SD had nothing to do with W:ET MP… they were under the direction of Nerve and ID, and they (nerve and id) are the ‘true’ developers of the game?.. well 97% of it at least…

hmmm, interesting… i was under the impression that either Nerve/ID/GrayMatter developed the SP, which was to be released as an expansion pack for RTCW… but it failed…
and SD was tapped to develop the MP aspect of game…

and what exactly am i looking at with regards to the video? that’s RTCW, Beach, not W:ET…

(Dysfunkshion) #54

I think that the video was an example of rtcw on Xbox (To show that Fast paced FPS are possible with analog sticks). I’m not convinced by the vid

I’m assuming a majority of the WET players were not RtCW players? I would much rather this game be closer to RtCW than WET. RtCW has the movement, gunplay, balance, and SW maps perfected (mp_ice + mp_base > *.) The flaws were dated netcode which is where WET is superior. I prefer the feel of RtCW a lot more than WET. I’m hoping they keep it closer to the original and integrate the best elements of WET. That would make DB the best team based game of all time which RtCW still has its grips firmly on.

Like most said, movement and gunplay are essential to any successful game. I would play on basic maps with no textures as long as the gunplay and movement is smooth, quick, and accurate.

I love you. Lol jk. I completely agree. I’d play with no textures and just the movement and gunplay also lmao. I’m sure we are in the minority though. I’m losing faith that I’ll ever get to play anything as close to RTCW anymore. Just watch the video on DB. The movement is closer to COD than RTCW and it’s not even close. No strafejumping, bunnyhopping, it’s slower, sprint/stop movement. I’m losing hope and the main reason is that I may be looking at the wrong dev to actually deliver this. I should be watching id since they created that movement and shooting we are talking about.

(prophett) #57

The game needs sprint and shoot to even come close to the same feel

Without including that feature it is obvious that SD has no intentions of trying to replicate the movement or shooting

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is one of the best Free-2-Play FPS games released to date

Completely off-topic, but:
Free-2-Play is a term that implies the use of in-game microtranactions. Freeware is a term used for programs that are gratis, but the source is not availible (which was the original situation of W:ET.) Let’s call a spade for a spade!

Lol Runeforce, You put “gratis” in your post instead of “free”. Getting confused with Dutch I see :stuck_out_tongue:

(rorgoroth) #60

I don’t think he is confused, I’m pretty sure W:ET was/still is technically gratis overall, certainly W:ET was not a free game at its release, at least not free in software sense anyway
