WolfET remasterized!!!

Oh, I wasn’t talking about the actual point he was trying to make, I was commenting on the fact that he accidentally used a Dutch word instead of the English equivalent. It was quite funny imo, because I often do the same thing.

Dutch word ? was Latin when I was young and is used in English all the time

Didn’t realise that even though I studied Latin for 6 years. LOL ^^
Anyways, maybe this is a good point to go back on topic, because I’m not really contributing to the thread right now

Rounding off this off-topic conversation: I think “gratis” is a part of every european languages vocabolary, except (american) english. I used it as to not cause any confusion. I am danish btw.

Wolf ET was incredible due to its gameplay. Comparing to something like COD, Wolf ET was less of “whoever shoots first wins” and has more simple and predictable weaponry. Its less luck, due to the accuracy of weapons, and their elegant simplicity and the speed of players. Wolf ET simply could be extremely competitive, much more than modern FPS games. One thing people love is the competition, and watching videos of players demonstrating incredible skill (rather than incredible luck). Watching good players always makes me want to play, I can’t say the same about video games such as COD. The gameplay in Wolf ET is simply vastly more enjoyable than the gameplay of any other FPS I have ever played, in a large part thanks to the accurate simplistic weapons and ability of players to move around.
But the gameplay isn’t just competitive, people who aren’t very skilled can still find a huge amount of fun. A large part of this is due to objective gameplay, as the focus isn’t always killing, and people don’t have to be great fraggers to help their team a lot. The classes also help with this. Another important part on making this game fun without being able to play competetively is due to the servers and the open source nature of the game allowing for mods and such. Servers can add fun mods, and some people just enjoy being on the server with other people and talking; you don’t even need to play to have fun. Wolf ET offers servers the ability to have fun modes such as snipers-only or panzers-only and other things such as trickjumping. I’ve even had an extremely fun race against a multitude of other players, some rounds with fun effects such as different gravity.

The success of wolf ET is due to its ability to be highly competitive in gameplay yet having the ability to have customizations and gameplay that people who do not want to play competitively can enjoy. This is really important, and if this game isn’t like Wolf ET, at least have this to some degree for success. But I would extremely prefer something like ET where you can actually move your player around while you fight, and the weapons are similarly well-made; this is why it was fun in a competitive sense.

Do NOT add advantages to people who pay real money like many free FPS games do. Gameplay that isn’t fair in an FPS is a horrible horrible thing. Also, more realistic gameplay does not equal better gameplay. And Quake Wars was not all that great when I played it.
