Dutchman, sorry for the delay in the reply, i have win7 86 and 64 and both work with ET and the 64 works very smooth in my opinion runs better them 86.
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory's compatibility to Windows7
how so?
I got vista atm with at least 3 different ET installations (sometimes I forget where I put them so could be more
)
And never had any problems, so what do you mean?
cuz we all know that vista is buggier than win7, needs more ram more HDD space and and and…?(!)
I just got the Win7 upgrade pack and installed it immediatly, its true what people say that its much faster than Vista … and W:ET WORKS!:
A big thank to PB for keeping their ET support up until now!
Hey guys, i know this might be a bit old but i got a problem in windows 7 64-bit. I have a 20 inch 1680x1050 monitor, an ASUS 5850 and an i7 920. When i open et which i played successfully on my familys win7 64bit laptop, i can only hear the sound but no video. Can anyone help me with this probelm?
Thanks! =D
:stroggtapir:
lol i just spoted youve posted log above (not full tho got some info from it)
… well looks youve got gl driver problem … you probably got ati radeon vid card with latest driver installed - thats the problem imo - latest drivers got problems running old version gl games such as ET (ati knows about it and it might be solved in future updates, or its solved and you dont have latest ones).
you can solve it by trying to completley remove current ones and instaling older ones (like from the cd/dvd you got with your ati card or looking for some old ones here http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/Drivers/ATI_Catalyst/old/)
in case of ETQW you don’t need [isolated]virtualization container to install/use ETQW.
just hit “compatibility” tab on ETQW shortcut and pick “WinXP” mode for binary and here you go!
p.s.
also recommended stopping Win Desktop managmnt service shutdown, but on decent PC its not really necessarily.
Why would you need to play ETQW in a virtual container in a wolfenstein enemy territory thread?
