about that lights thing, with was disgussed earlier:
i think that its good to make it a bit brighter, bcause if u cant see a thing, u cnt shoot a thing.
a example: some1 walks to u, and bumps into you, u want to shoot few headshots, but cant see a head. :eek2: :eek: :eek3:

Ok here r some new shots:

More interior decoration for the first floor rooms of the abbey, making sure telling you where you are:

First peek of the interior of the secret room:

A bit of a rework of the caves, with smooth blends of rock and sand:

And the new cave entrances… no longer blocky but real rock entrances:

(specs of the lower cave entrance: 81 brushes, 2 alphablend-shaders for rock-to-cavewall (XY and XZ), for the ground alphablend shader cavesand-to-grass, about 30 alphablend markers for all blends… this entrance is brushwork, not a model :smiley: )

one of the finest maps i’ve seen for W:ET in quite a while. really nice work with details, textures, lightning. except for one or other minor glitch, i’d prolly say that this was a stock map for rtcw single player.

very nice. keep it up. hope to see it released soon (a TE for 6on6 clan battles would be awsome - i’m bored with all the “stick man look” that clan playing maps have recently - adlernest and sd2 for example - beeing frostbite a good exception).

when’s the next gameplay test? :banana:

the interior is realy coming together there

have you considered adding cobwebs to places to gice the worn/old/used look. they are a pain in the arse to add but the effects can be nie if used in the right dosage

The interior is looking really nice atm, so does the new alpha blending inside and near the caves-section…

The one playtest I’ve been trough was astonishing. Whilst there may be a few changes necessary to make it a TE edition, the map plays smooth.

I wonder if I could join the next one, really want to see that map again. :smiley:

i think they will be another playtest it definatly looks like that is McNites intention i hope he plans one anyway cos the last one was briliant fun. and besides testing the map it was some of the funnest ET games i had played for a long time

No you can’t. Moving area is well defined, and everything else is clipped off.

But you can jump around on top of the abbey-roofs

That area was clipped 5 mins after the playtest :smiley:

Plz bring on your suggestions for improvement… we r still working and can implement if it sounds reason- and doable for us.

All I can say is: bring on the ideas. If it doesn’t cripple the map, it will be incorporated now.

light rays visinles in cave entrance and from windows would be nice
not sure about this: darker sky with visible stars, cloudy sky is so typical for ET and it is getting boring…

Would be nice. I even know where I could find a tutorial, but the site is down. Can you plz point me to a resource? Cuz right now I don’t really have an idea of how to make them look real and not like a brush with transparent texture…

i don’t really know any sites with a help, but in 1024 contest ( really long time back , http://www.splashdamage.com/index.php?name=pnPHPbb2&file=viewtopic&t=6846&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=390) there was a church map doing it perfect, also cathedral map does it good enought
From what I can say you can only do it with transparent textures ( brushes with only one side textured, other nodraws, and affining with coronas

Didn’t check on the contest maps yet. As I already use a lot of coronas I got to be careful not to run into any runtime entitiy limits.
The pics are down because our ET server provider is doing maintenance… so no worries :cool:
