Will Dirty Bomb live on? Doubt it.

What has been given away in the past month AFTER the update? besides an abismal chance at some event skins, nothing.

I linked to twitch so you can see the interview with the game developer discussing exactly what you want. Improvements and the future changes to the game.

I linked to the past month because thats all they show lol.

I support OPs thoughts. I am also quite a bit worried about the future of this game. When I have time to play some games, I look now at my desktop icons…see fallout 4, battlefront and dirty bomb…I pick DB first  those are triple A games and DB actually does really great in terms of getting me liking their product. The truth is that it needs polishing. Especially the reward system. What is the point in winning the match if I already did my daily 500c. There needs to be more to it. More incentive to do stuff in the game.

Why is winning not enough of a motivator? Why do you need something else to make you want to play your best and win? Why do people need an incentive to play a game they like?

Call me crazy, but people who play to win are the people I want on my team.

Is this some sort of byproduct of the “everyone gets trophies” generation?
Winning is a huge motivator. And yes, most people play to win because if not, why are they playing right. The thing is, winning itself isnt enough. Players want to progress and get better at the game unlocking new things with customizations and being able to…progress. Is winning enough? That’s cool. I just witnessed a player trading up 6 gold loadouts and thousands of credits to recieve a S$% cobalt. Guess winning is all huh.

Appreciate the link. That’s what I needed.

Can I have your stuff?

what makes you think devs should ever disclose their plans for the future. i dont know ofanydevelopment team that does that. as soon as a dev says ‘we want to implement X’ dramakids will take it as a pact with the devil, signed with goats blood on a parchment of human skin in a moonless night.

its a f2p title which means that the game will keep on improving, new content will be added in future. player numbers always decline after initial spike, and the game is not even fully released

Stop being reasonable. You’re ruining the mood and I’m about to put my pitchfork away now.

True. But ideas and possible features should be mentioned, either through polls or comments. Not confirming it, but at least mentioning and throwing it out there you know. Yes, there are some dumbf%$# but, experienced users could give some helpful feedbacks. Its not fully released, but do you think a full oficial release will BOOST player number? Maybe.

I would fully expect a full official release and associated advertising campaign (since it’s gotten this far without a single ad) would have a very large impact on the player base.

(Amerika) #49

It’s not like the playerbase is that small right now. I know people like to look at the concurrent player list on Steam and SteamDB and assume that’s all the players in DB. But the SteamDB chart DIRECTLY BELOW shows that DB typically has 250,000 unique players playing with millions who have installed it. Yes, DB doesn’t have CS:GO numbers but it’s not exactly small or dying.

And yeah, a full release with advertising campaign and events will definitely help add exposure to the game and keep players coming in and current players playing. HiRez found this out with Smite despite the extremely crowded MOBA market and eventually turned a somewhat laughed at game into a successful one.

(DeadAlive) #50

A free engineer would be good, but one of the big problems with this game is this ‘squad lock in’, which results in imbalanced matches when one team simply does not have access to the necessary Mercs.

If the Devs are going to insist on that, then there will always be additional balance issues as a result, and people do quit games over balance issues. IMO, they need to dump the ‘lock in’ policy and let people select any Merc and loadout on the fly.

(srswizard) #51

They’ve moved on to Gears of War, I’m moving on to Overwatch.

(Hydrelion) #52

The community is too decent to just ditch it and move onto another game like Overwatch. Yes, I will spend time playing Overwatch, but Dirty Bomb will always have a special place for me.

(Jostabeere) #53

You claimed competitive players are leaving the game. Not about the playerbase in general. Don’t dodge the question.
Please read my statement about shittalking again before you claim something. Thanks.
And I can say it again. If you need something you get for playing the game instead of playing the game itself, go and play a CoD where you pay for content you need to unlock first. I enjoy the game itself and don’t need cosmetical shiny things to keep playing it.
Overall it’s hard to take you seriously with all that misinformation, untrue claims and that misreading thing you have.
LOL. yo, lets not make this personal aight. Did i offend you? My bad. “Overall it’s hard to take you seriously with all that misinformation, untrue claims and that misreading thing you have.” Seriously? LOL. Did I EVER say that the game was bad? Did I? I’m just mentioning improvements. Like i said, its not the fact that the game is bad, but that it isnt progressing to the right direction. I mean, I just showed you the stats of negative player gain, which means player loss. What else do you want me to tell you, because seriously, I’m trying to argue with stats and arguments while you seem to be simply OFFENDED and taking it personal. Just chill. If you’re satisfied with the game situation right now, fine. I’m trying to improve gameplay for all and competitively because the game has potential.
Even if you say “the game is good” doesn’t change the fact if you tell some wrong stuff about it.
It is just objectively wrong when you say the game isn’t progressing.
Furthermore multiple people showed you the stats about a growing playerbase, which you ignored.
FYI: Arguments don’t get any better if they’re plain wrong.
I’m not offended at all. But you seem since you’re pushing your way while ignoring everyones opinion and you’re plain dodging questions or other statements.
Please, stop acting so arrogant, read what people wrote you and accept the fact you’re just wrong in most part you say.

I agree, but it would be nice if the winning team would at least get a credit bonus I don’t know 100c for the victory and the losing team would get nothing. I was not talking about any badges or medals. Nobody really cares about that kind of vanity. Today if you win or lose you only adjust your stats. Tbh I never played any game for stats. Having a good feeling from victory is nice, but why not to get a small reward on top of that.

@V_Take come back in 6 months necro this thread and said I told you so

Patience my young Sith. These people either get it or don’t. You will have your time just wait for the “I Told You So”

Then watch the excuses ah never get’s old.

Either they wake up or be casted aside like all other F2P’s. Dog eat dog world

They will hide behind “Beta Tag”, “Promises”, “Improvements” all this can only go for so long.

Once you’re a full fledged Sith necro the thread hahahah…

(xAvenger) #56

This game is still the best team shooter out there, but will continue to have its critics. Even with the release (and my purchase of) Black Ops III and Star Wars Battlefront, I still find this to be the better game for quick fun. Objective being the primary source, and Execution being the way to take a quick break from Objective. A few more maps would, of course, extend the longevity of the game, but at least the maps out now are fairly balanced.

(Glot) #57

you might want to visit dev’s forums
http://forums.warchest.com/forumdisplay.php/54-Dirty-Bomb

there is only feedback, and litteraly no threads about changing profile pics, and/or other not game related threads.

(blisteringOwlNest) #58

Also, just pointing out that while players did fall after summer, that’s when school starts. As a 17 year old, it defiantly gets in the way of what’s really important - winning at dirty bomb xD

I’d expect to see it increase again when winter holidays start, and probably more next summer. Let’s be honest, under 20s probably make up a large percentage of the player base.

The issue with this is that it will encourage stacking and/or last minute team switching or shuffle votes.

This has also been discussed in other thread. Last minute switching and shuffling should not be possible.

Even today many people tend to join the match right before end just to get daily 500c.

The idea here is to get some recognition for doing well in the match in terms of extra XP or credits.
