It’s actually quite a lot of fun to play around with.

[QUOTE=iwound;453805]cheers wez…again.
quick go. awesome. laser eye surgery. it makes the original look out of focus.
Look at your fps drop regarding before/after. Might as well play with better in game settings.
ahh man didnt see that last night.
ok next question. why is db out of focus?
can we have a sharper image without a frame drop?
Isn’t that anti aliasing?

Hey, this is definitly off topic but your screenshots made me wonder about that, is it possible to play on 4:3 or 5:4 aspect ratio running full screen ? With a 1600x800 screen I could stick to it on QW, but here on db I have a little square screen at the middle of the screen with black spaces on each side, which is disgusting. So I have to run it with an aspect ratio of 16:10 to be on full screen mode, but I’m not used to this and it’s annoying. Is it the case for everyone on the Alpha or someone knows how to fix this ?
If im not completly wrong, there is a section in the ShooterGame or ShooterEngine.ini which says use fullscreen and where you can set a percentage of the used screen. You could try setting there higher values than 100%. Sorry that I cant help you more precise, I’m at work and dont have access to my DB cfg files
In-game settings are already maxed.
I’d love an excuse to get a new graphics card tbh, nothing is really pushing boundaries graphics wise in the last 5 years.
Playing on a wide screen with a 5/4 or 4/3 ratio is only to enlarge the hit boxes …
Not really fan of it … need to be clamped imo.

Belive me with 50 fps bigger hit boxes would not hurt me.
After some game on some others FPS, I have a really big “Out of focus” sensation on DB, still got a blur or something really annoying. Maybe gonna test the previous tool you talk all about.
London Bridge is where you’ll be starting to see changes, however there has been more done that hasn’t yet been committed to the version you are playing.
We are address things like you guys have been mentioning: increasing the saturation (colours), reducing the fog and brightening light sources.
From what I understand (dev guys please correct me if I’m wrong) work is focused on getting a benchmark with London Bridge first, before going onto the other maps.
That’s great news! I’m looking forward to the days I won’t be needing sweetFX anymore. For some kind of reason my k/d ratio has been improved since I started to use that tool. And it made me enjoy DB a lot more. I’m currently playing with 200% saturation to better distinct the players from the environment.

What about the sharpness/focus is this being addressed, improved, left as is?
is the soft focus there on purpose or an engine issue? or my eyes.

I think there is a filter or something, if not that’s a rendering problem with the engine.
Hope that will be fix in a near futur.
yes, everything is being addressed at once, it’s a long process, but things will get better.
