this is a Brink forum, the Crysis forums are here
When will there be a "real" PC preview?
I don’t think SD is a Bad Company. If it does turn out the PC version is Left 4 Dead, there’ll be massive forum Rage here. Even with their policing, the Bethesda forums will be a Battlefield 2
If SD messes up the PC version they can consider their own forums to be
Puts Glasses On
Enemy Territory.

Lack of Open Worlds are not attributed to console. Ever played a Rockstar game perhaps?
Compared to all the info CDProjekt is doling out for The Witcher 2, there seems to be a dearth of content content being provided by SD.
Good sales on consoles, and some rage from PC players on forums - is not so bad scenario for SD i think. After all, the PC players will not whine too much, even if the game will be a console port (just need to polish it a little bit), because there are nothing new here, company goes for bigger console market, like the others.
I’m hoping to see some pc footage before it comes out. I dont think/hope it wontl be like Black ops/Homefront/Crysis2 in how bad those games were at launch the game looks awesome but so did those games and then they just didnt turn out to run good or had other problems.
hm, not 100% accurate. consoles have less memory than pc’s. so the open world is pretty much limited to something like a city. in a city there is plenty of space thats blocked by houses. so you can use a lot of occlusion culling http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidden_surface_determination to save performance and memory.
do a real open enviroment like, say, a jungle, would be impossible on a console. there would be to much to render per sceen and that would kill the memory of a console.
guess why crysis2 is in a city. thats also the reason the next battlefield will be in an urban enviroment, too, i think.

and brink is in a city… proof that brink is a console shooter…
as it’s available on both XBox 360 and Playstation 3, proof isn`t neccessary
the only thing consoles don`t do well is continuous gameplay, I watched one of the kids I work with play Oblivion, or as I call it Loading Screen, it reminded me of 1985, I kept expecting to see Ìnsert Disk 4
i tried to read most the thread, but its full of people not even posting on topic, so ill just reply to main poster, i agree, i have yet to see any actual ingame footage from the pc edition, all the previews and footage has been on consoles. im wondering if this will be a poor quality port of a console game
this kind of information is really required when considering to buy a PC game.

There has been a lot of PC footage released. The CC vids are PC footage, the Airport walkthrough is PC, the playable demo at QuajkeCon was PC I believe, and footage used to make all the officially released vids is PC. It’s just that they are usually being played with an Xbox controller, so I think what you really want is mouse/keyboard footage, because there is PC footage a-plenty.
no what i want to see is whats different on the pc edition, like not locked 70 fov tunnel vision and radial menus everywhere
you know, the reasons why i play PC games, not console games .

I thought the radial menus were great and I hope to see them in the PC version. I think it’s very convenient to just make a gesture to select something (which is the same mouse movement as when looking around instead of having to click something with a pointer). I enjoyed it in BF2.
