I think DG’s more confused than offended - I know I am
What's on your ET:QW wishlist?
Hmm, it was either the ‘something’ I smoked or the ‘something’ I drank which produced that post lol. What the hell was I talking about?!
You know what? I think I managed to hijack my own thread?!!
Simple, there are 4 things I look at before playing a game
-
Big guns and big bombs, the bigger the better. Screw the pro-players, If they want to complain about getting naded-exploded-fried-chunked/ect find another game, war is hell and it doesn’t come fair or smell like roses.
-
Playability, can I play this game without worrying about FPS, skill levels ect, Can I just pick this game up and play it?
-
Team/squad based play. No objective can be gotten by a Rambo-type player. No matter how skilled you are you still can’t do it alone, example (yea don’t shoot me) trickjumping into an objective and destroying it. For me that ruins the game and defeats the purpose of TEAM play.
-
Admin functions. A good solid admin function that leaves no room for “further” modification. Plain ole et was ok but did not come admin friendly one of the reasons it spawned a bunch of mods, at least that’s how I take it
Things I would like to see….
A central Commander, like in Natural Selection ( Half Life mod) That the rest of the team can rely on to move players to way-points, provide Intelligence data via satellite, order ammo or evac drop/liftoff sites
no long trips from the sapwn points to where the action is to die then have to make the trip again
I agree. Like I have said before no HUGE maps. I simply hate them where you spend most of the time going from point A to point B. Where is the fun in that? It is different where you have a large map which is devided in to smaler sections with different obejctives, for example in oassis where you have to capture the old city and then you move from there.
change the game name!
Enemy Territory is already taken and this game is nothing like the original!
I can not see that ET:QW has anything to do with RTCW ET, so I have to agree. It “looks” like a totally different game. I could be wrong, it could be that there are some ET theme in ET:QW, but it is kind of silly to give the game this name if there is no ET theme. But that is just my opinion.
ok just a theory
rtcw sequil was to be w:ET… sp fell though and a SD released multiplayer for free to avaoid wasting all there hard work and who can blame them
rtcw:ET soon became a very popular and taking the majority of the of rtcw… althout how compleate the actual ET was judging by the un finished skins folder and there was maby going to be more than 6 maps… also talk of removing bot clips for goldrush could surgest that bots were planed… how much of this is true is unknow but lead to w:ET becoming a increasingly popular online game
soon rtcw:ET was know just as ET prob to make it easier to say. ET was now a incredably popular game… So whatever the reasons for the free release of the game where it was a popualrity stunt, just getting some work out that would be wasted or just some nice comunity types giving something to the rest of us there was now a massively popualr game with a large folowing
so to cash in from that actision(or whoever) decided to take the name ET in the hope that it would bring some of the ET market with it and of course give SD to try and create something with a similar gameplay
not realy on topic but just a surgestion to end these constant ET name things coming up… ime shure someone will corect me though :bash:
How about this, for ETQW:
a) you can give away your XP to the player of your choise, while playing. ( /cl_give200XPtoPlayer_enternameofplayerhere 1)
(However, that will lead to a lot of players begging for XP. “OOoh, Loffy, plizpliz pliz can I have 400 XP. Just 400 XP, you’re soo good!”)
b) you can set a command , so that you always keep half your earned XP and the other half is distributed to the players with the lowest XP on your team.
(like this /cl_shareXP 1)
And, expanding on these brilliant ideas, how about a stats (a variable) that tells, after the round: Who shared the most XP with his teammates during the round?
Of, if not XP, some other “currency” (ammo, shields, whatever), earned “inside” the world of the Game of the Year 2006 (ETQW).
Why? Dunno. Just some ideas.

EDIT: Ragnar, what are u doing up this late ?!?! (post below)
As I stated elsewhere: I guess they took ET for the style of gameplay (classes, XP etc.) and Quakewars for the storyline. And because WET and Quake are popular games they have a large potential customer base.
Oh, and I am waiting for ET:Heretic! (maybe 2008?) Fireball spamming!
I’m waiting for ET:Quack Wars, a sequel to Duck Hunt so I can redirect all ET’s useless snipers.
Ok - the game isn’t called Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. It’s just Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
Logically, you might then think we should be calling our new game Quake: Enemy Territory, but the sponges that live in the office jacuzzi formed a committee and voted against it at the last minute.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. It’s just Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
you were saying wills ^^
think you should read again  mwahahahahahahahahahaha… haha… aha… ahhhh
How about this for ETQW: players can pick up nades (if they are quick) and throw them back. Or kick nades in mid-air back to the oponent.
No, Im not drunk.
//L.
one of the best bits of hl2 in my opinion
since the nades used the physics like veryhting else they could be piced up… only problem was there was no method to thow lighter objects much futher than heavier ones… but if it roled behind ur nicely constricked defence of tables you could quickly pop it over the side and even shoot them away acros the ground
if this is going to be used then cooking grenades would brob have to be removed or it would hardly ever be used cos it would be too risky
Am I alone in thinking that HL2 DM sucked like a hoover? In the original RtCW the SP bots would often kick grenades back at you so why not in ET:QW?
What about easter eggs? Will there be time to include the original GoldRush map in ET:QW?
Sexy chick models are required, with pertness never before seen in a video game!
Seriously I hope you put some female character models in, but what does a girly Strogg look like? :moo:
