My English is bad, so can anyone tell me, that mean I can’t use ironsight like in etqw? Just push the button one time – ironsight go on, second push and the ironsight go off. I must hold the button all the time? Coz it’s a problem for me I have an ironsight on E button.

He also said it would be a relatively quick action, so it probably just works better with the pace of the game for it to be a hold action (which is what i understood as well).
I know we all hate the ETQW comparisons… but ETQW ironsight is a toggle, sprint is a hold action but has the option in the main UI to be set as a toggle.

ionsight / zoom was a hold in q3, make it less “used” and more shooting on the hips, is it not a win-win?
I’m sorry but WTF IS THIS!? The player choice of toggle/hold sprint or ironsight or crouch is the basic of control options for any First Person Shooter. We not talking about some sort of capricious gamer wish, it’s a standard option for PC game. What is the reason of only hold ironsight? “Sprinting does not cancel ironsights” , I don’t care , I’m fine if ironsight is not usably while sprinting or sprinting breaking ironsight. May be its good for controller, but why I can’t have a choice on my PC KB/M like in
COD:MW1/MW2
COD:Black Ops
BF2/BF:BC2
Wolfenstein 2009
Delta Force: Land Warrior
Fallout3/Fallout:New Vegas
F.E.A.R. 1/2/3

For the god sake the only game with such non-choice mechanic is APB, and we all know how that game ended (Never used zoom in Q3).
“If you find it a huge issue, I’d suggest customizing your weapons so that using ironsights isn’t really necessary.” – The ironsight is the significant part of modern shooters, you need to use it if u want to be a good player. Hip fire vs. ironsight fire on mid/long range is not an even fight, ironsight always was and will be more accurate, it was made for such purpose in a first place. “Must hold button” will not stop me from using it, it will just make that usage much less comfortable for no reason.
Hmm… Hold-to-use ironsights and toggle sprint is the perfect combination for me, so long as activating ironsights stops the sprint which I think is what Exedore said

I understand that for people who use “hold button” this is like a “lol, im use such control all my life, so all ok” , but man I’m playing more than 10 years using toggle on ironsight , and I really don’t understand why I must change my controls, it’s so hard to give ppl a choice?
P.S. Eh… i will have to use side program for toggle :(, hope its not be considered as cheating.

Seems weird that in the interviews they give about SMART is that you normally don’t think about your actions when you want to slide under or jump over a table, and so they made it automatic, but holding ironsight does seem to require thought?
I think Exedore may been talking about console as those are hold actions for IS and stick button click toggle for sprint
I truly hope so because, while this is of course a very tiny aspect of the game, I would feel a little bit disappointed over simple stuff like an option for toggle/hold and binding SPRINT and SMART to different keys being missing on the PC.

In a close battle it would I assume seeing as it reduces FOV with minimal accuracy advantages. But ironsights will put you at an advantage over range.
