My knife will cut ur fists open , MAUAHAHAH

What do you want to see Wolfenstein 3
Sounds good to me get rid of all the little kids by putting an age limit on the game.
GREAT idea mate
Turning into an ET wish list maybe?
Frankly, to get me to pay money for it, RTCW3 would have to offer quantity and quality.
There would have to be more maps than you get with ET (maybe 10+) and they would have to be “better” than ET’s in the sense that they would need to be balanced (i.e., given 2 teams of equal ability, either one could win). ET suffers from having only 6 maps, and only 4 of them playable in competition.
I’d also like to see “public” and “competition” modes built-in to stop the arguments about how the game should be played in either scenario. “public” would be a Campaign gametype with XP and all the bells and whistles you like (including 2nd and subsequent map selection based on the outcome of the previous), “competition” would be Stopwatch and no XP. ET suffers from having no clear concept of “competition mode” and therefore continual arguments about how it should be set up. COD has no real “public” mode in that it’s hard to get much satisfaction out of public servers.
RTCW got it about right in most respects (balanced maps, and not much difference between competiton and public modes), but any RTCW3 would have to be significantly different to make it viable.
I’d like to see ET’s Classes remain, but with maybe physical attributes of each Class fixed (make a Soldier faster and stronger than a Med, for instance) (the Price of Peace mod is looking good in this respect). In other words introduce significant functional and physical differences between Classes beyond weapon choice.
I’d also like to see COD’s “iron sights” feature (again coming to Price of Peace I hear), and Melee attack (i.e. punch/kick or hit someone with the butt of your gun COD style).
Just bag all the supernatural crap. I just slogged through it on RTCW SP to get back to killing Nazis. NOTHING is as scary or exhilarating as one on one with a decent human player. Lets face it, so far the AI on bots is laughable. They are just too predictable. When someone comes up with an AI bot you literally can’t distinguish from human, then I’ll be impressed. I would like to see some really big urban maps, like taking out Hitler’s bunker in Berlin, or a big chunk of Stalingrad, including the cellars, attics, and sewers. The house to house fighting is really the most harrowing of all. A recreation of the final battle in “Saving Private Ryan” would be cool as hell. My two cents.
yup yup - like the idea of individual class strengths - that way you could waive the restrictions for weapons and classes - if the advantage is tied up in the class - ie, Solider is faster and stronger than a Medic, the Medic could still drop his SMG, pickup a panser but take a penalty hit on how fast he could move or fire or reload the panser when compared to a Solider. You could also cap the accuracy for classes so if our Medic does choose to use a panser, he’s less accurate than a solider would be.
$0.02
You can’t “cap” accuracy, accuracy is player-dependant. You can change the spread but not the accuracy…
I would gladly buy a wolf game that was totally MP-centric. Unfortunately, Doom 3 will not be the engine to do it, I think. What I read upon it’s announcement was thus – what Quake 3 was to Multiplayer gaming, Doom 3 will be Singleplayer gaming. Personally, I think that’s a step in the wrong direction, and I was disappointed.
The other engine for a new wolf game would be Quake 4, but Raven (which has been in charge of that project for ~2 years) is either deciding to be very quiet or currently in chaos.
thinks I’d like to see ( and I don’t care whether the current CPU power is sufficient or not )
-
destructable enviroment
if I throw a grenade in the snow I want to see a crater that stays throughout the game, if I order an arty strike I want to see some BIG craters that stay and can be used for cover. -
freely placable cunstructions
for example Engineers should be able to build MG emplacements at any point of the map (the total amout of emplacements should be limited, similar to the landmines), other constructions: AT ditches, AT gun emplacements… -
FldOps Lv3 should be changed from 8 Arty shells to 4 Arty shells but with a higher calliber (150mm ?) = reduced arty-spam
-
going prone should reduce the damage taken from splash damage!
I like your ideas.
How about giving everyone a shovel so they can dig holes?
What I really want to see preserved is the speed of movement. This leads to trickjumping, which I’d also like to see continued. Here’s where I’m coming from.
Per speed, I came to ET directly from Q3CTF4, which is a REALLY fast paced map. The skills I developed there (looking up/down instead of just right left, rocket jumping, fast target acquisition and precise aim) would help anyone in any game. When I first played CS (and later CoD), I found little payoff for these hard learned skills… and that made those games less appealing. It was like I was all of a sudden playing in 2D instead of 3D… and it wasn’t nearly as challenging. So I didn’t stick with those games. ET had these features (also the ability for a wide FOV) which is why I love it so.
Per trickjumping, I think of it as XP that transcends maps/servers/campaigns. Because I have put time into this skill, I have an advantage over other players… WHICH I SHOULD! This makes me play the game more because the more I play, the better I get and the better I compete. Taking away trickjumping (a rumor I heard about ETPro-next) would really bum me out. I don’t want to be put on the same plane as a noob who just started playing and doesn’t know how to do the things I can do. I’d rather find a group of people (clan competition) that can also do these things… and play against them. But if you take away the benefit of me playing A LOT of ET… then I will play it less, and it won’t be as popular a game as it is. I strongly recomment that SD consider this in future games… SP and MP.
P.S. Oh, and limit the splashdamage of the panzer. It’s absurd.
P.S. Oh, and limit the splashdamage of the panzer. It’s absurd.
what do you want it to be the splash damage of a grenade? if that was the case what would the point of even having a panzer in the game…panzers are made for big damage… just like airstrikes and artillery… Splash Damage(the company) took ET and nerfed enough of the splashdamage of the panzer, than its original damage in RTCW, to accomidate those who whined about it in RTCW…so now they made the game more ‘newb’ friendly and you still bitch… god forbid if you all had to deal with RTCW splashdamage in ET
this complaining about panzers dates back to the days when RTCW first came out…and one thing I learned after all these years of these types of threads and people complaining about some weapon is if you arent getting killed by someone with a SMG then everyone will call those using the non-smg noobs and then bitch that its not fair and call for it to be gone… or limited in some way
no one is happy until all the weapons are the same…and causing the same damage… and then they will end up complaining the game is boring… so you cant win
this isnt CS… eliminating and nerfing the weapons that make this game standout from all the other WW2 type games will kill what made RTCW the Game of the Year when it came out.
airstrikes, artillery, panzers, flamers, etc are apart of this game deal with it… if you want to change or get rid of them…then maybe this game isnt for you… think you should go back to COD, MOH, BF1942 etc
have to agree tbh - the splash damage of ET’s panzer is noticibly smaller than RtCW’s - gone are the days of aiming in the vague direction of an enemy and firing an insta-gib - I’ve not played much Q3, but I have played some Q2 and QW and PuP has a point as well, but in the other direction - I personally think that there was/is quite a lot of skill in using the rocket launcher (which I’m using as a rough equivalant of the panzer) - so it’s prolly true that ET’s panzer is somewhere in the middle of RtCW and Quake x.xx ???
without launching into a counter flame and wasting even more of SDs bandwidth… the thread asked what I would like to see in the next evolution. It didn’t ask what I would want if I wasn’t a panzer fearing noob… which I am.
While the RL in Quake is a fearsome weapon… it still takes MUCH more skill to weild than the ET panzer. Why? because the damage is lessened. Having just finished a clan match in which the other team took out 3 panzers to compesate for our skill… I think the writing is on the wall.
What do you think of the meat of my previous post? Is this an idea that others support?
