What do you use MOUSE2 for?

(Cerebrate) #1

Hate to make what looks like a spam thread, but I’m genuinely intereted to hear from you.

What do you use MOUSE2 (right mouse button) for?

I think very few here use it for altweap.

I use it to crouch. I think that was my smartest bind (not that I think I invented that :D).

So, what about you?

(Cyber-Knight) #2

i use it to crouch too. in fact, I have mouse2 as crouch in all FPS games.

and with my trusty MX500, i have a whole wack of buttons
mouse1-fire
mouse2-crouch
mouse3- /kill
mouse4-alt attack
mouse5-binocs
button below mouse3-Weaponbank6
button below that button-weaponbank7

(Salteh) #3

Jump!

mouse3 = sprint :slight_smile:
mouse4… or 5(?) = teamspeak

(Kendle) #4

Being left-handed:- mouse2 = jump, mouse5 (side button, left-hand thumb) = sprint, cursor keys for movement, right-CTRL (right-hand thumb) = crouch.

(Loffy) #5

Logitechmx510 (5 buttons)
mouse1: fire (really?)
mouse2: talk (ventrilo)
mouse3 (the wheel): click on wheel to switch to scope (or to put up mortar)
mouse 4 or 5, the thumb button on the left side of the mouse: command map

Reasons: I want to be able to talk to my clan buddies fast (“Two guys behind the bank!”). Speed is of great importance here.
I also use the command map alot. A quick look at it, and I’ll know for a fact that there are no buddies nearby and I can toss nades like mad. It’s also nice to glance at the map when you hear footsteps. Friend or foe?

PS. Autoreload turned off. Always reload manually. That way you can hit “2” and switch to gun after emptying your MP40/Thompson - without that machinegunreloadsequence (takes forever). But u knew that, 1337-players.

(fattakin) #6

Alt Weapon for most games but i think its reload for some bizzare reason at the mo

Maybe time to invest in a logitech

(Cerebrate) #7

Just to make it clear to everyone; I’m talking about Enemy Territory.

(TheChinga) #8

My setup

Mouse 1: Attack
Mouse 2: Depends on class, med pack, special usually
Mouse 3: two hand
Mouse 4: Needle or pliers
Mouse 5: Grenade
Wheel up: Reload
Wheel Down: Next weapon

I also play left handed thanks to years of playing OG Unreal with a joy in the right and mouse on the left for mouse look.

Keypad: directionals
5: Jump
7 and 9: Lean
NumLock: Binocs
/: Alt fire
Right arrow: crouch
down arrow: prone

I use a eluminix keyboard, so all is nice and close…and easy to see in the dark…but touch does it

(Fusen) #9

mouse1 - attack
mouse2 - altwep / reload
mouse4 - sprint
mouse5 - weaponbank5

// etpro uses mouse2 as reload if its got altwep bound to it =P

(Sick Boy) #10

I use mouse1 for forward and mouse2 for backward in every game.

(Wils) #11

What the… everyone knows mouse2 is forward, not backward

(senator) #12

Mouse1: Fire
Mouse2: jump
Mouse3: NA (grrr, damn Intellipoint driver)
Mouse4: Weaponbank5
Mouse5: Weaponbank6
WeelDwn: Weaponbank7
WeelUp: Weaponbank4

(evilsock) #13

Mouse1:Fire
Mouse2:Jump
Moues3:One Handed Weapon <-- points and waves @ Senator grin
MouseWheelUp:Reload
MousWheelDown:Two Handed Weapon

(pgh) #14

Mouse1: Fire
Mouse2: Jump
Mouse3: Kill
Mouse4: TS PTT/Usually on Pickup voice tho…
Mouse5: say =)

:x

What the… everyone knows mouse2 is forward, not backward :)[/quote]

I have to agree, I use mouse2 for moving forward, but the s-key for backward, not mouse1.

(Ragnar_40k) #16

MOUSE1: +attack
MOUSE2: +reload
MOUSE3: +speed (slow/walk, this is my thumb button)
Mouse wheel: weapon scroll
Num1 - Num7: weapon banks 1 - 7
Num0: weapalt
CTRL: +moveup (jump)
SHIFT: +sprint
INS: +leanleft
DEL: +movedown (crouch)
PGDN: +zoom (binoc)
HOME: +leanright
END: +prone
Cursor keys to move

/kill is bound to k, since I don’t use it often.

(fledsbo) #17

as medic:

MOUSE1: (switch to SMG/pistol) +attack
MOUSE2: (switch to needle) +attack
MOUSE3: pistol/smg switch
MOUSE4: (switch to medpack) +attack

rest is pretty standard

(EvilBaga) #18

So Im the only guy who uses it as Alt-Fire then?

(next_ghost) #19

I have alt-fire on mouse2. But having sprint on left Alt and jump on spacebar proved useful for trickjumps (both pressed by my left thumb so it’s perfectly timed from sprint to jump :D)

(Ifurita) #20

mouse2 = sprint
mouse3 = +activate
mwheelup = altweap
mwheeldown = reload
