Thank you.
We need server with minimum level 7+

Bump. When will you stop ignoring veteran players? Pubs are such a piss poor experience now that open beta has launched.
EDIT: It’s been over a month now since I first started this thread and it hasn’t been addressed at all. I just don’t understand what’s the hold up. 95% of people agree that his is a good idea. Get to it Nexon/SD. @MissMurder
The problem is I seriously doubt it would help. Try playing competitive(minimu mlevel 5) and you see see the same issues mentioned in the initial post. If this is implemented, it needs to be lvl 10+. I almost don’t want to see this implemented because those new players would still be just as new once they got to whatever minimum level is required. Nobody with experience would be there to help them improve/tell them what they are doing wrong.
You are completely missing the point. This is not about skill, it’s about understanding the basic concept of the game. And no, players aren’t “just as new once they got to whatever minimum level”. What kind of flawed logic is this?? I want to play with and against players that know where the objectives are located, that know how to dispense ammo/med packs etc. And usually a player with a level 7+ has already mastered these basic mechanics.
What. If you are bad at the game then you are bad at the game. Nobody is going to hold your hand. You are actually implying that veterans should go out of their way to help newbs figure out the game. You are delusional. And besides, SD already introduced max level 5 servers, they themselves introduced level based segregation. Once you hit level 6 you are forced into deep water.
I never said introducing high level servers was the perfect solution. But it’s a good temporary one. Pubs nowadays compared to the early closed beta days are like night and day. They used to be half decent. Now it’s random shit all over the place.
One last point, you can keep saying that level =/= skill. If you actually played pubs then you would know that 90% of the time the team with higher overall levels wins. And that’s a fact.
It’s been bad enough trying to carry new players for the past couple of weeks, before the open beta even hit.
I’m simply not man enough, to even log on and play right now, the thought alone makes me vomit uncontrollably.
We hear you. Balancing has been a chore and the servers have been very stressed today too so that doesn’t help Matchmaking. Will definitely flag this to the devs.
Educating newcomers ? Tough job. And it’s difficult to put in words for players/devs which have been fed (for more than a decade now) by such teamwork oriented fps games. It’d be interesting to know some sort of “average profile” of newcomers. I’d bet they mostly come from usual fps shooter of some sort (cod/cs and latest bf iterations) where, usually on pubs, fighting skills are above everything else. KDR is like the major gauge even if you have spent one hour on multiplayer. Even though practice and entering videos clearly show what has to be done, a good part of newcomers and even vets just care about KDR in db. And this is sad because if you’re focusing on teamwork or even lemminging during your first levels, you’ll learn far more than trying to mown the enemy team, which is almost impossible during the first steps of the learning curve. The final overall score tab could also contain support and game obj scores from every player to let people know how they performed overall and compare it to their teammates. This would also pinpoint black sheep who yell at their teammies while only caring to their beloved KDR.
Another random idea could be to put a training mode on each map, and give a significant reward for doing them all.
Those won’t solve the skill gap issues between newcomers and vets, but at least this may give more satisfying games for both sides. Having level 3 doing reviving sprees with 0.1 kdr is far more useful than level 3 doing Gollum with ads hidden in a corner.
In the meantime, I’d go for level 10+ servers…
ye is needed… idc if it lvl 5+ or higher… or just balance the shit.
just had a game with newcomers against some sort of experienced Players, Spawncamp and only 2 Plants without any Chance to Hold it
I agree, there should be some sort of 10+ server (it could be lower if needed). I am not worried about if a new player has a bad kdr ratio or lower than average skill. If players went to go against “high skilled” players, do competitive matches.
I am more concerned about is if new players actually understand the objectives and the need to carry them out. Too many times do I see a fully repaired EV with no one advancing it, it is just sitting in the middle of the map. But new players don’t see the problem with this, most will think, “oh whatever, this is like team death match, i should camp and increase my kdr” etc…
By making some sort of upper level servers, by that time, they should have a understanding about how the game and different objectives work.
@CHEFS posted less than an hour ago that they will look into minimum level servers.
a filter for 5 and under servers and 5+ servers (or whatever it will be) should be added too
we absolutely need min. lvl. servers. all those poor newbies should never have to play against us veterans. At least the first few levels, while you are still trying to aim down sights, and dont use sprint at all
I think all players 1-5 level should be put in max lvl 5 servers until they get to level 6, cuz this is just madness right now. What will they lern if they are gonna get raped from old players and die all the time? , they should only play with other new noobs and lern it themselfs.
Honestly, we better stay on this and wait those newcomers to improve. The average level has hit an unseen low, it can only improve during the month.
Newbies learn nothing being smashed into their spawn except how to uninstall. Those of us here to play a class-based fps rather than deathmatch with a mix of horde mode spawncamp are also not satisfied playing with and against majorities of server populations of people who don’t know the game.
Quick join needs to HEAVILY favor max rank 5 servers for people rank 5 and under.
So long as competitive allows for solo vs premade, it might as well be called pub stomp.
We need min rank 10 or at LEAST 7 servers to choose. This should have been done before OB and needs to be priority.
I’d prefer public servers that are based on minimum ranks. For example Gold+ servers or Cobalt+ servers. I believe this would be more prudent than actual level requirements, as that just focuses on how much a player has been playing, not how good the person actually is.
That way, the players who feel they aren’t very good, but might still be lvl 10+, can go play on “Bronze max”-servers. After level 5 now, it’s just a big terrible mashup.
Thanks to everyone supporting the cause. We need to make SD/Nexon realize that this is an important issue.
That screenshot is the exact reason why the minimum level for competitive needs to be raised AND that there needs to be a separate queue for solos than there is for pre-mades.
Problem is if the majority of other players they face don’t sprint and ADS constantly they will have success playing that way. And getting positive feedback on a playstyle that isn’t working later on in the beginning is Bad.
Also Ardez your screen shows why a Level Gate doesn’t help LVL. 5 is the LVL.1 of Ranked play. They had 5 Lvl. to get to know the game. However they are now in their very first Ranked match.
All they played was 8 vs 8 casual objective (I hyperbole a little maybe they played some stopwatch and on the smaller servers). Sofar for them Team composition wasn’t important, half their team (or themself) didn’t give a damn about objectives and their personal impact on the match was smaller.
In Ranked on the other hand every player has a larger impact, teamcomposition is very important (as is communication) and noone gives a damn about K/D doing the objective is all that counts.
They have to adjust to that.
Having them play more casual for 2 or 5 or 10 more XP lvls. Doesn’t change that and only reinforces that casual (TDM like) is the way this game is played.
There are are max lvl 6 servers for those that want to take it slow and learn the game step by step (sure there should be a single click join trainingzone servers solution on the front page). But those that want to see the real deal should absolutely be able to when they feel they are ready. Not when they reached a arbitray XP lvl we old grumpy betaplayers regard as worthy enough.
They will learn and adapt alot faster that way.

what feedback is it, to get absolutely destroyed by faster-moving enemies who never miss their shots (cause you move so slow with ADS). I dont see how you learn faster if you get destroyed faster.
If anything, new player needs a slower-paced server, where not every mistake is punishable by death. If you get locked down in your spawn and die repeatedly you will learn much less, than if you can go out, explore the map, engage enemies in different scenarios.
Way better to get a bad habit that you can change later, rather than filter out 90% of potential playerbase, and only leave players adept in games like Quake, TF2, W:ET.
