7/8 ppl <=lvl5 @ normal obj-server. Now that’s fun for everyone, especially the new customers.
We need server with minimum level 7+
I keep checking threads with this topic, hoping for Nexon/SD to come to their senses and get high level servers done ASAP, but nothing so far.
Problem is if the majority of other players they face don’t sprint and ADS constantly they will have success playing that way. And getting positive feedback on a playstyle that isn’t working later on in the beginning is Bad.[/quote]
what feedback is it, to get absolutely destroyed by faster-moving enemies who never miss their shots (cause you move so slow with ADS). I dont see how you learn faster if you get destroyed faster.
If anything, new player needs a slower-paced server, where not every mistake is punishable by death. If you get locked down in your spawn and die repeatedly you will learn much less, than if you can go out, explore the map, engage enemies in different scenarios.
Way better to get a bad habit that you can change later, rather than filter out 90% of potential playerbase, and only leave players adept in games like Quake, TF2, W:ET.

Put thats exactly how you learn by positive and negative stimuli. You do something and you either get positive feedback (you get a kill, XP, win a match, get complimented) or you get negative feedback (you die, you lose, get flamed (unfortunaly)) depending on what you get you either keep doing it or stop doing it.
Is it helpful if lowlvl. player get curfstomped at their spawn? propably not much. But this is a problem of teambalance and should be adressed as such, by agressive teambalancing routines, and better skill shuffle vote ASAP.
But if a new player has both good players against him and on his side he will learn faster. He will get negatively reinforced that his playstyle doesn’t work by the oposition and will get a leading example by the good players on his side.
Simple example.
I’m not a ET/RTCW player. I was aware that it existed but never played it. Therefore I didn’t know how to handle ammopacks.
Only giving them out when people asked for them. One day in private beta I see a better player drop them at spawntime and learn that this way you get more ammo than you started with.
Nowadays I will always drop ammo at spawntime, and guess what? When I do suddenly low lvl. skyhammers start doing the same.
It’s the same for everything else in the game. We learn from better more experienced players.
If new players want to take it slow they can. There are Max lvl servers that protect them from us.
Which to be honest makes the cry for min lvl. servers. Not about protecting new players but simply a plead for an exclusive playground where the old players don’t have to put up with the bullshit new players do.
PS. It’s very extreme right now. Because of the Open Beta floodgates. The ratio old players vs. new is largely in favor for new players. However that will regulate itself the more new players get proficient in the game.

It is also true that no matter what level the minimum level servers are, they will get to that level and join. Players will be even more made because they will scream “How did you get to level 10 without knowing this!?” and the irony is because nobody was there to teach them.
I am 100% for bumping the minimum competitive level to 10, but I think minimum level casual servers shouldn’t be a thing.
Think we need multiple brackets for servers, not just a 7+ one personally! Only problem with introducing more brackets is splitting the player base/longer MM times.
I feel like recently, not enough players have been using the Max Lv5 Servers, i’ve joined matches against 2-3 lv4s and i’m lv9, so they get stomped. Then the next server I join it’s the other way around, but my back is’t strong enough to cary that many lv3s so MY team gets stomped. I’m not sure if we need more lv5 servers or an easier way to access them. I think Max lv5, Max lv7 and Min Lv10, are a good idea. Spread out the playerbase enough for games to be fun and new players are able to ease into the game. If they play long enough to reach +lv10, they should expect more competition.
