We need a list of the REAL bugs/exploits in this game

it seems like everyone has their own opinions on what’s a bug and what’s not… and i see post after post on here claming they have found a new bug when in reality it is either part of the game or some server setting

so if you would please list REAL bugs and REAL map/game exploits

i’ll start

[li]There’s a spot outside the old city where one can literally sink into the ground, and become invisible. If using a flamethrower, can shoot flames and kill people and nobody can see the person OR the flames. “Mysterious Flamethrower.”

[li]Time stat is sometimes incorrect at the end of a round

[li]lots of issues with the demo menu like timescale and pov carried into game afterwards

Campaigns last for 3 maps, and XP will reset at the end of the third map. Using standard map rotations, any rank you have at the end of fueldump or goldrush will be lost when the map is switched. This is by design. Some servers have altered their campaign files to allow 6 or 10 map campaigns, so these would be good places to play if you like having high level classes and lots of XP.

Flamethrower stats claim your aim is insanely high. It seems like every time enemy you set on fire loses health it’s considered a hit.

Covert Op with terrible kill2death ratio, who doesn’t care about blowing objectives or clearing mines but instead running and picking up every enemy uniform is considered best covert op.
Covert op who never loses his disguise and kills some people+objectives will have much less exp.
Actions like throwing smoke grenades at important constructibles/destroyables or blinding Mg nest served by enemy give no experience. Letting teammate thru teamdoor gives no experience.

It seems that after changing side (axis to allier or vice versa) you keep skills and exp, but NOT kills and deaths. This leads to weird situation where on first campaign map soldier has far less kills than medic, but much higher exp. Who’s going to believe it’s Battle Sense ?

the only way to allow XP for this without being exploited (eg teammate goes through teamdoor, then comes back out, then goes through teamdoor again) is to only allow XP once per teammate per door per spawn. it’s doable though…

i agree covops gets way too much XP for stealing uniform. like duh, so hard to steal pants from a dead person :moo:

This can be done with a simple strafe-jump with only one person.

The hitboxes weird on some situations (prone, while inside tank).

Ive seen this on fuel dump before, and last night it happened to our opponents in a TWL match on Goldrush. ( Fortunately for them I was right there to help them out with an airstrike )

I didn’t add the other covert ops stuff since its not really a bug or exploit, although I agree that it’s something that should be changed. Coverts need to be rewarded for doing “covert ops tasks” and supporting teammates.

At Level 4 Heavy weapons, when you shoot the panzer it default switches to grenades instead of pistols (which it normally does) or the SMG which it should automatically switch to in my opinion.

At Level 4 Heavy Weapons, (sometimes?) you do not get the SMG when you spawn. You have to manually select them like the dual pistols.

Sometimes people’s kill/death count in the post game meny is insanely off, but if you actually click their profile it accuratly lists the kills/deaths in the weapons section.

weapon autoswitch is not reliable. when planting dynamite sometimes it switches to pliers and sometimes it switches to your primary weapon. really bad if you have a loaded rifle grenade… :angry:

no kidding bani, that one sucks bad. same with being a covert and tossing out a detpack only to fire your gun and blow your cover because it did not switch to the remote.

I have been trying to pay attention to when this occurs and I think I may have it figured out. If you drop your dyno and immediately start hitting the left mouse button (ok, +attack or whatever it is for those that remap keys and buttons), it will sometimes switch to SMG instead of pliers. I have found that it reliably switches directly to pliers if you do not pound the left mouse button after dropping dyno. However, unless you can reliably force the SMG to come out by pound the left mouse button (as a defensive measure), then this is still a bug IMO.

Any chance of getting a comment from SD as to whether this is by design (feature vs. bug)? If it is a feature, can we get some sort of description of how it is supposed to work?

To the best of my knowledge that’s neither a bug nor an exploit. At least for the South Gun as I’ve planted there MANY times with only 2 people… and a 2 person stacking is legal in match play.
