Well, that’s with a monitor included (BenQ 1ms €179,00)
Upcoming Hardware Upgrade What is currently the most important Factor for Extraction?
Mine cost roughly 1200euro as well, excluding the headset, boxes and monitor (though it’s been several months).
I’m the most satisfied with the motherboard I bought, working like a charm without any problems and a decent amount of things to plug into.
Asus P8Z77-M Pro
120hz?

I have the same mobo and couldn’t agree more
Still waiting for an ips 120 hz (some koreans sell them, but I perfer one I can buy in a shop) I dislike tn panels.
BenQ RL2455HM ,24" 1ms (GTG)~ Intel Extreme Masters and MLG Official Gaming Monitor 2011/2012/2013, you can find it on amazon/newegg at around 186~190$

Edit: Built-in speakers are worthless
btw
@Ruben
I can strongly recommend the Korea - IPS @ 120hz + 2560" res.
2 friends of mine got them and they are very very happy. The only thing is, that the stock stands are not that good. But there are solutions for this. Will get one of them, when get my new flat
n4ts I would pay the extra 60$ for the ASUS 120hz. No point building a beast new rig to lock yourself at 60 fps. No matter what anyone tells you, there is a massive difference between 60 fps and 120 fps.

There is also no point in building a beast machine if you want to best graphics and then buy a TN panel :x
um, ill take a 144hz TN panel over any garbage with a 60hz cap any day of the week. i sit in front of my monitor, not jump around and wiggle so im not worried about color wash at weird angles
After spending some time tweaking, my colors are fine. The color difference between TN and IPS does not out weigh the difference between 60 FPS and 120 imo. In addition, you will get more ghosting on an IPS monitor VS the 120 hz w/LB so all your pretty colors turn into choppy sludge every time you move your mouse where as with 120 w/LB it does not.
If you stand still a lot with 80 FoV I can see IPS being a more attractive option.
Could you give me your settings?
I bought a cheap VG248QE (€190, store prices are €290) and want to test it. I will get it Saturday or Monday and if I don’t like it I will probably sell it for €250 and stick with my IPS monitor.
Well I finally received the monitor and I have to say that I was quite shocked.
It kinda was the same feeling I had when I put a SSD in my computer. Everything in game moves/feels so smooth and no motion blur
I almost get the feeling that my sniper skills improved because of the monitor
Colors are a bit s-h-i-t though (especially at gamer mode), but if you tweak them it’s okay.
Yeah, I still haven’t managed to tweak my colours on my Benq XL2411T, which are quite ****. If anyone has suggestions to colour settings for Benq lemme know.
Its lightboost on 120 Hz rox tho. Mega difference. As Rubenos said, feels like when installing SSD as sys drive for the first time
@Kokonat: for God’s sake, don’t buy ATI GPU. You will regret you had’t paid a bit more for Nvidia, when the Catalyst **** strikes you.
I’d still go for 16 GB of 1600 RAM if I were you (in case you don’t upgrade every 2 years, for the future proof sake. I’d also go for 1866 Mhz RAM).
From CPU’s I prefer Intel, but it’s just a personal preference, probably the guys suggested good AMD CPUs above. If I were upgrading now (and I will very soon) I’d probably still go for newest i7 core version like 4930K on socket R/LGA 2011 (because I can and also for future proof’s sake, that’s the socket they will be probably using for some time in the future).
As for GPU, I’d go for GTX780 (one of OC versions), but GTX770 seems also ok if the budget is shorter.
As for MB for this, it is a good question that needs some more research, but for OC needs some Asus Rampage IV extreme should be good.
Note that these are hi-end solutions for larger budget, but I prefer to spend on an upgrade some more but once in 4-5 years, which has worked pretty well so far.
I guess my eyes are broken, when I recently changed my monitor to 120Hz from 60Hz, for some reason it was set to that by default for months, I noticed no change.
