Upcoming Hardware Upgrade What is currently the most important Factor for Extraction?

I know RAM is pretty cheap, but why insist on getting 16gb? For a normal user isn’t 8gb more than enough?

(Ashog) #62

well, you will see no change on the desktop

launch teh game already!

(Rex) #63

8GB is enough for gaming.

I really hope the next update bring some serious performance boosts.

Did you change it in the graphic card drivers?

When I changed it in windows to 144 hz it stayed at 60hz, but when I changed it in the graphic card driver it went to 144 hz.

Lightboost is amazing as well.

(.Chris.) #66

Changed it with nvidia control panel thing, I only thought to check when it was discussed on IRC a while back and noticed it could do 120Hz  Dunno if it would affect it but I have two screens, the other is my old one set at 60Hz.

(dommafia) #67

Pretty sure that’s the issue. 60 vs 120/144 is like night and day.

So even though my main screen is now set to 120Hz it’s being limited by the other which is set at 60Hz?

(dommafia) #70

Seeing as the video card is feeding both it would set to the lowest common denominator. Maybe someone else can chime in with more, concrete info.

(Ruben0s) #71

Well chris can be unlucky as well. They did a test with 60 vs 120 hz. 90% could point out the screen with higher hz. Maybe chris is one of the unlucky 10%.

I am not at home right now so I can’t test. But when I duplicate the screen it takes the monitor with the lowest hz rate.

(.Chris.) #72

I did some searching around and people are saying it shouldn’t matter, modern gpus can deal with 2 different rates. When I can be bothered I’ll try just using a single screen and test 60 vs 120 to check.
