I apologise if you think I did, but I never said that I knew more than you, I never said anything about relying on me and I never said anything to contradict what you said at all.
What I did in fact say is that there are no facts regarding what ID is doing or needs to do or how they are going about doing it, so there is absolutely no point speculating about it. Making a fuss in these forums will make absolutely no difference… That’s all I said.

anyway, i dont get it, why is there no reason to speculate about it? i know i cant do didly from my chair, but thats exactly how i have it with our tax policy in DK, i cant do anything except pay, still i speculate about them. its actually the stuff you dont have any influenze over you tend to speculate over.
I havent said i think game will die because of this, i actually dont think so, but it will be less populated
If ID would do anything to help out here, then a few statements with progress and maybe a estimated time of solution or if they have disbanded it, well then say it imo

We waste money on a game which is probably doomed without a clear notice of the producer. They still make us to pay for the servers in the hope the masterlist comes back. See my point?

Like I said before, this is a completely free service for a free game that has pretty much been abandoned since 2006 anyway.
Why not shut down your server and save your $$$ or use it for something else until the master list is back, if having the main master list down is causing your server to become a money sink.

I’d have to agree with Mateos, we have no ‘right’ to expect any thing from id. They were providing a service, nothing more.

This game is what, nine years old? did you really think id would keep this going forever? Yea it would have been nice to have advance warning, but they were not obligated to do it.
this community has supported et endlessly, and with the exception of a few cry asses will continue to do so I imagine. So if you’re that worried about it, by all means, harass id no end, but I doubt it will get your master back. Seriously, the only people making money on et were server hosting outfits, id wasn’t making a dime of running a master list. At the end of the day, it’s about making money in a ****ty world economy, and Id didnt make any off et.
You can always move on to a more supported game, but no where has there been a community more dedicated to a free online game than et.
I guess it’s like PB, if PB dropped support it’s because the concerned games owners were OK to not recontract Even Balance.
But…
Since they said they’re looking into it, on Twitter, they’re trying to bring it online… But not a priority for the reasons you gave. Pay a guy to get back the master server, plus pay the bill for keeping it running. A month, the game is still played, well not accessible to new people, but if new people want to play they’ll search and find us, like Duke Nukem 3D and all that old multiplayer games. The DN3D launcher makers have all their own master server, and people can even run one. Maybe ET one day will be like this, but for now without the original domain name…
Wondering why we’re still speaking and arguing when there’s and there’ll probably not be any direct answer >.>
If it were me and I was Id, I might have said that to help avoid the inevitable ****storm that would follow from the community.
For now we’re few to complaint openly here… The others have taken the “temporary fixes”, which seem to be less… temporary now.
