Why so hate for the person who is trying to help? Paul, Rudi and others are just trying to keep master list alive till official master server list is working again.

It wasn’t to show that “I’m amazing” it was to see it’s not that hard to get it done since I’m a noob anyway. I didn’t made it for myself, I did it for ET. So you are suggesting I should just have done nothing and wait 2 months while in the mean time no solutions are available?
We should be on the same side, I’m against community alternatives as well, ID should bring it back or carry it over to SD. That’s what I’m saying. Alternatives are not a fix in any way, as the official is linked everywhere.

While I am not a big fan of the trackbase, F|A, sdu, and god knows what else monopoly…
I have to give credit to the maker of this master list solution. Regardless of what advantages this may offer the maker, they took the initiative to make something. And since that something is all we got, credit should be given where credit is due.
Originally I was going to throw in the towel with ET…but my clan convinced me otherwise. I plan on getting this list posted on my website, I also plan to start a petition to get id to allow this new list installer to be bundled with the game, and a few other things.
I don’t like any of this…but let’s just get onboard with what resources we have.
whats the latest updaye fix for the master list? is it still the first one? other people seem to have more servers in there list only about 100 maybe less are showing up in my list and all filters are off

sadly…but, must agree with you.
I think its time to realize that the masterserver as we knows it wont come back, there is no way a simple mysql setup could have taken that long to be fixed
Im 1 of those guys that believes that this will have an impact on our game, and im pretty sure that it will mean that we will miss the new players into the game
im also of the opinion that it wont kill the game, as there are many experienced ppl that knows what todo, many clans are aware of the problems and are doing what they can to help out new ppl
What im afraid will kill the game is the fact that many servers will only be populated with own clan ppl now, and unless you have a very big clan or have 1 of the very few servers with lots of regulars then youll start experiencing that only your clan ppl are there, and im afraid that will take the joy out of the game for many.
Our clan has atm 2 weeknights where we gather and plays togehter on a server, yesterday we had 15 clan ppl gathered and on the whole evening only 2 pubplayer connected. 
Our sniper server which actually had a few on every day before the master list crashed, hasnt seen a player in days.
What has MySQL got to do with anything? Also how do you know exactly about the infrastructure of ID?

Yeah, this is true. On a normal day we would see between 5/10 new players on our server each day. Luckily my own server gets only affected by it for a tiny bit. We have 200 regular players with most of them playing this game for over 3 years and they didn’t even notice that the masterserverlist went down.
But I still got hope that the masterserverlist will come back

i assumed that the masterlist was working on a mysql db, but if it isnt well thats my bad, then its working on another db of some sort who cares tbh
I dont know rats ass about ID infrastructure or other fancy stuff about them; what i do know is that the list has been gone for 1 month thats pretty long time for fixing a simple thing like this.

Well if the fix isnt simple then a redirect to lets say Pauls db would be simple and could be done in what? 2 minutes and they could have let that run until they fixed the apparently very complicated thing
granted im getting a bit pissed, but not by ID, more about all those mr knowitalls i see around here. fact is, you dont know more than i do, another fact list has been down a month, another fact, ID refuses to talk to anyone about this, a small statement saying we are aware and we are looking into it, is what ive seen has come from them.
temp solutions is as said only a temp solution, all those ppl that would find this place or another place where you can see this temp fix, isnt anyone of those that needs it, they know howto connect and they probatly have the ips in hteir head or use SL, TB or HLSW anyway.
So the temp fix isnt a solution at all, its not working for the new people just firing this game up.
I cant help speculate on how the game will be doing now, sitting on my big fat ass and saying never fear Rudi is here, just isnt me mate.
Ive started playing this game in 2003 and have run servers ever since. so ofc im worried, for every day this continues we loose ppl to newer games that actually works.
Im working as a consultant construction engineer and I can calculate and draw and 5 storage office building in the amount of time they have used to say, we are aware.
im 49 years old and im getting to old for this cr*p
