those who know me might know that i am no aimer at all. so
i always had to find out ways to use movement … well there
it is - another trickjump movie by me.

it s called ‘hang loose’ and eventhouh its 128mb it s worth a
look. q3f mates may be interested in the intro since we have
a guest star. mr recon - my old trickjumpclass from q3f.

I just spend an hour of trickjumping and found two new jumps that are now in your movie… very depressing :smiley:

Nice movie, but why did it waste 2 min. (and more than 50MB of my bandwidth) with an intro that has nothing to do with ET?

WOW!!!
I have been playing ET since its release and that was impressive as heck! I have been tring to look for trick jumps in ET and wanted to see if you could answer a few questions. My main question is in regards to the acual jump. Do you use strafe jumping for just strait sprint jumping on some of those things? I have been using strait strafe jumping in RTCW and ET forever and anytime i raced someone, there seemed to be little or no diffrence. I also wanted to know about settings. I know the q3 engine has a few magic FPS numbers and I wanted to know what com_maxfps settings you used for jumping like that or what you would recommend. Any other settings that are vital to trickjumping?

because i discribed my way from quake3fortress to something new - in this case enemy territory. the dead body in the intro is the trickjump class from q3f, which was my favourite one.

eventhough i knew that only a low percentage of all people would understand what it was about, i had to add it:)

btw - i ll upload a 35mb version tonight too - since i got word from some isdn peeps that weren t really happy about the sice:)

very nice, although I do agree that for alot of the E.T community we won’t quite understand the first 2 minutes lol but good jumps even though some are like :eek2: :eek3: :eek: was it on a server with normal settings? and nice effects aswell shame it wasnt very long though :frowning:

i simply use sprint a short time before i jump off, keep it pressed, and strafe left + mousemove left, and switch again after a while (if you are off the ground a bit longer)

serversettings: standard - the normal g_grav 800 or smth like that
com_maxfps: 125, but i drop below 80 on almost every map :slight_smile:
a trick for jumping on boxes is to lower the view against the ground -> 125 fps:)

Man… nice jumps!

I have been trying to do that oasis jump for a bit today, but can’t quiet make it =( (that one up top, i can make the normal one)

I did the battery jump a couple times, but man its not easy =(

i d say that that oasisjump with the splitscreen was the most difficult one. it took me ages to record it :slight_smile:

yeah the oasis balcony jump is crazy using a weapon might assist you in a easier effort but then it gaves the game away if your an allie trying to do it before the wall gets blown
