I am convinced that some people always perceive that they are at a disadvantage, even when they aren’t. Not coincidentally, it is NEVER their fault. It’s bad game design, or something.
There needs to be a way to change things mid-match.
Think I’ve read that there can only be 3 of one class at a time per team.
Then it would be in place to give an xp incentive to leave your class for someone who decked it out.
Right, and why I see clans and teams of people who play together frequently not only being better in general at the game, but also enjoying it more. Especially since the only way to communicate such things during play are through voip, which is off by default in pubs.
Too true.
It also seems like this has become the Apple generation. “What’s that? The enemy has a superior team composition because you were either unable, or unwilling to plan accordingly? — There’s an APP for that”.
People seem to want a quick-fix for every situation, rather than putting the work in and either finding a counter to the enemy tactic with what you have available, or just buckling down and out-working them.
Gamers are getting lazy
Not unless they change it from how it was when I got to play at PAX, I am almost positive we had 5 medics on one team for a bit during the escort part, this is when I decided to go to Operative for a while.
I heard that the demo at PAX is slightly different from the game that will be released in May. Something about the convention demo having medals or something.
I don’t care about abilities and body types changing mid match, I just wanna be able to change to a female character. Now THAT’S unbalanced.
Flame shield up
You could change to a female character while your wife is at work… just remember to change back before she gets home!
No idea what medals would even refer to. If you explain what you mean a bit more I may be able to say if I saw it or not.
Now that I would find restrictive and it would seriously piss me off. But until someone shows me a source for that I will not believe it to be the case.
it’s probably server-specific, as it is in TF2. At least, ideally it would be a server-side option.
I like this Whydmer guy.
Does this really have to be repeated whenever a facet of the game mechanics is being discussed? It’s such a non-point. We’re discussing the merits and demerits of core game, the rules the game comes ship with. The vast majority of the games will be played on this. Saying that it’s adjustable doesn’t add anything at all.
Perhaps a dopey server admin stumbles across my post, not realizing that it may in fact be adjustable. Boom, i just helped out the community.
You guys are like spazin’ out. Heres what I think I know so far; You cannot change your body-type, weapon options (scopes, muzzle breaks etc.) nor your appearance. You [I]can[I] change your weapon load-outs (made before game starts, most likely at main menu) & class.
Body-types will be chosen before match or at character customization screen where you customize other aspects of your character such as weapons, clothes etc.
You might notice that in some videos that show the player picking “perks” that there are multiple tabs to choose said “perks” for each class. “Perks” may be limited to a few per class or a total limit for you to choose how many “perks” you want for every class.
Weapon load-outs are most likely made in main menu. However it is unclear if each class has a set of load-outs or if there are a set number of loud-outs for all classes. It is also unclear if the each load-out must be for a certain body-type, or if all the loud-outs can be smg’s or mini-guns.
Points should be able to be used for all purchases despite what class you earned the points in.
Thus I conclude that say your a advanced player or know the maps well, you can go with the small body-type and be able to change your class & load-out for the pending situation. Or if your not familiar with the maps, or just like to use the heavy weapons you can use the bigger more durable life spanned heavy body-type & of course switch between classes & loud-outs for the pending situation.
I hope I cleared some stuff up for you guys. If you have something to add or to correct me please don’t hesitate.
Not a correction but a suggestion. Might just want to run with the new thread with this topic seeing as it’s already quite popular. I guess I don’t care anymore about the repeating threads insert sadface but they’re much more annoying to follow when they’re active simultaneously.
I personally don’t have a problem with what you can and cannot change during a match. The whole point of the game is to play as a team. Everybody on the team isn’t going to be good at everything. If you make a character that’s good at being an assault class, the play to that classes strengths. There’s always going to be something for you to do to help the team.
