There needs to be a way to change things mid-match.
So basically… we can throw the whole character system out of the
I mean if I have a character with every ability being an Engineer ability I am going to play an Engineer. But if it turns out our team has 5 other engineer characters? What then? The system gets turned on it’s head.

Then you find a command post and switch to soldier. You don’t have to have all of the soldier abilities to be a good soldier. All you need is skill with a gun and the other 5 engineers locking down the objective with turret spam so you can plant the bomb.

Seriously…not that hard.
You guys are like spazin’ out. Heres what I think I know so far; You cannot change your body-type, weapon options (scopes, muzzle breaks etc.) nor your appearance. You [I]can[I] change your weapon load-outs (made before game starts, most likely at main menu) & class.

Body-types will be chosen before match or at character customization screen where you customize other aspects of your character such as weapons, clothes etc.

You might notice that in some videos that show the player picking “perks” that there are multiple tabs to choose said “perks” for each class. “Perks” may be limited to a few per class or a total limit for you to choose how many “perks” you want for every class.

Weapon load-outs are most likely made in main menu. However it is unclear if each class has a set of load-outs or if there are a set number of loud-outs for all classes. It is also unclear if the each load-out must be for a certain body-type, or if all the loud-outs can be smg’s or mini-guns.

Points should be able to be used for all purchases despite what class you earned the points in.

Thus I conclude that say your a advanced player or know the maps well, you can go with the small body-type and be able to change your class & load-out for the pending situation. Or if your not familiar with the maps, or just like to use the heavy weapons you can use the bigger more durable life spanned heavy body-type & of course switch between classes & loud-outs for the pending situation.

I hope I cleared some stuff up for you guys. If you have something to add or to correct me please don’t hesitate.
Err, we know that.

And I think in the latest footage you can see that you can pick every gun that fits your bodytype at a command post but you will have to do the weapon customization in the menu beforehand.

That would make sense

Would hate for my teammates standing the entire match by a command post finding out what dress they should wear

But choosing the right clothes is an important tactical decision in a war!

Napoleon was wearing a red shirt, so both his own men and the enemy couldn’t tell, should he be wounded in battle, thus preserving his troops’ morale.

Now, Hitler had brown pants…

Thanks for ruining the joke. Also, my hat isn’t black.

sry. just read hitler and the part of my brain thats responsible for moral and stuff just went crazy and let me type those words to actually try to ruin what was supposed to be funny, which it was not. without hitler my brain would have thought for one more second and i probably would have understood the cynism.

The risk isn’t “teammates who all have the same build” - it’s "bad teammates who all INSIST on using the same build even when it’s obvious the team needs someone to switch to a less-preferred class.

I’m planning on my main being a Light Operative/Medic. That expectation is based on experience in other games, and depending how the classes and body types handle, it may change.

I’m also planning on creating a full-range multi-class character who can switch to any class without losing effectiveness. Major focus on universal skills, with a small selection of the most broad-spectrum class-specific abilities, to make the character useful in any situation, with any teammates, playing as any class.

It obviously won’t be as good a Medic or Operative as my main, but if I’m in a game where my team is short on Soldiers, this build will be much more useful to the TEAM than my other build was - and as a result, will earn ME much more XP, and give me extra experience playing as a class I’m less familiar with, which I consider to be an added benefit.
