its good that server can accept both versions and the reason i got a redirect on 2.6 is just for my players to easy connect. But from a little poll on our players most of them use the ip as we most got long time regulars. Today the redirect is a fake in terms of ping and player count put will change that to have a true facade that will show the acctual count. Just need to find the time.

hrmm I mean to say if no master list on 2.55 i.e. no players can find servers. i.e. all players sooner or later will update to 2.6b and admins will be forced to run server on 2.6b. At present admins run server on 2.55 cos their are players. If no players then no servers and all will update to 2.6b.

If you figure out way to show true stats i.e. run server on gs.com and facade on different machine but still showing true stats and if you don’t mind sharing please let me know. This way i can also show true stats. I am stuck with version I have and it doesn’t show trust stats cos both redirect and server are on different machines.

I can also say u have 16 servers with fake names which are leading to 1 same server of yours and start creating new forum accounts to support my post…

I have said enough times in this topic please PM me proof so i can figure which clans are faking names. Here is one of my post with “proof” that none of those belong to me.

I don’t play ET since last 2 years so I can’t check on regular basis. When someone PM’s me proof I check and see.

Taking 8 screenshot with server IP on it and then PM’ing me is that hard to do so? All I am asking is for 8 screenshot in PM (private message) and I can investigate it.

I think this topic has gone way off track. It started with one server forcing whoever played on it to redirect there when they play. All agreed that thats a **** thing to do. As far as redirect goes there is absolutely nothine wrong when clan server offers redirect to its other clan servers when servers are full plus player is given choice whether to redirect or not.
As far as fake servers and such AFAIR from at least 3 years back LZ server showed many players on masterlist and when you get on server there were only a few bots THAT kind of thing is wrong.
Faking someone elses name too redirect to your own server is also wrong.

Have I missed anything?

ET is fore sure gonna die if server faking doesnt stop. Newbies to ET can barely figure out how to install and get on the servers.

As far as all the haters of =F|A= out there you obviously dont know anything about our community after seeing some of the **** posted in this thread. I have been in different clans over the years and I can tell you FA tries to do the best for the ET community. Our admins are active in PBBANS, SL, and TB.

Kill the 2.55 serverlist, fill the internet with 2.60b installs and adverts for them, that would unite the community and remove facades

new players will download full 2.60b install and meet no facades so all happy
existing players will in most cases be informed by the server admins on which servers they play or by friends in the xfire or w/e coms they use to update.

how hard can it be to understand that problem is 2 different versions? actually its the only problem.

use 1 version and there would be no need for facades

Well for me personally it means im aware of what happens in the Community
and beeing active on pbbans as a streaming game admin has provided me with some good tools over the years to keep track of ppl and caught cheaters.

You don’t understand. Setting up a clanpage on 2 rating-sites and streaming to pbbans is necessary.
If you don’t understand that cod4fun, well, you’re probably not doing enough for the community which is a shame.

I got 460 Servers in the list whit 25 F|A servers/redirect.
25 server = 5% of wolfenstein
if all people redirect 25 servers we got more then 10.000 Servers in the list.

shouldnt you be moving onto something more difficult? i mean, being able to mess around a bit and testing your “skills” is one thing…messing up the serverlist of a free and good game is a bit lame.

My Servers are 2.55+ (2.55/2.60)
I use No facade (I have the .so but I do not use it because I see no interest!!!).

I see no interest to use 2.6X ; many prefer to play with 2.55
*But I understand some prefer 2.6X : Players are free to decide *

I respect all and all differences ; sure that’s not the case of all…

Solutions are easy :
You can all read old previous post of my Side talking of things like that.

Solutions are easy for those that really want to listen :

1) Lock Facade Server by displaying only 1 server using 1 IP/PORT

2) All Server Should use 2.55+ (2.55/2.6X Servers)
[& You will got more players by doing that…]
(Some MODs can be modified if necessary : some MOD patch exist too…)
And the 2.55+ version is protected Against all including against UDP Flood

Linux ANTIFLOOD ETDED
Just need to adapt the version to the Win ETDED

3) Display all the Servers in the BOTH 2.55 & 2.6X Server versions
(It mean all 2.55 & all 2.6X in Client 2.55 & 2.6X)

Last point many are complaining about F|A because they are Jealous.
But if you need very Technical and punctual Help you will be surprised :

Solve Problems are passing by the way of :

  • What we need is to Attract more players for the Global WET Community ! (Mean do not think only to “your own navel”!)

  • 1 server IP/PORT = only 1 display in Master Server list (mean display in 2.55 & 2.6X only 1 time)

  • All Secure gaming as example TZAC (will be possible if all decide to use the same software).

  • Remove all OLD WET CLIENT VERSION in downloads centers to replace it by a version that permit to propose a version that include the Both version 2.55/2.6X + TZAC+ PUNKBUSTER for GUID + Other GUID system = EASY INSTALL & ALL IN ONE !
    [Please maintain to let the choice 2.55/2.6X in the pack : some prefer to play a version without regarding the server side] > could be possible if all server became compatible 2.55/2.6X (mean patched 2.55+)

  • Promote for WET Game (many players on the WEB ignore that game)

  • Stop Flood Attacks on all ports ! (including some ports I do not want to speak about here !)

If we attract more players we will all win.
I say to some… stop trying to Steal players of others… the players will chose the Best Servers : & you be free to became the best servers ! :slight_smile:
