Hi,
Just a little development feedback from the Quake Con Quake Wars Videos:
-
I noticed that ETQW has “Tools Tips” - that tell you how to operate vehicles / use machinary. These have proved to be the bain of everyone’s life in the Battlefield Series. The designers of BF2 made these a run once option to try to stop them being a problem. The problem with this is that everytime you reinstalled the game for any reason, they were back and even though you’d been playing for ages, you have to get nagged by them for the next 3 days whilst you reused everything post reinstall. Can you please make sure there is an option to turn these off in the game browser’s options in ETQW to stop this becoming a problem as very few people ever want to hear these more than once and many players often would prefer to have them turned off completely even the 1st time the game is run.

Just looking at the videos I also noticed, so far as it possible to tell from a low quality video, that some of the larger weapons sounded a bit weedy - specifically some of the tanks / artillary pieces and vehicle mounted weapons which had no real boom or power to them. Is there any chance you could re-examine some of the sounds and beef these up before release to make a more immersive experience?

The commanders voice (the one that points you to the objectives) is weedy and lacking in command authority. Infact there’s almost a joke like tone to it. If this game is to be taken seriously, it needs changing to a deeper more authorative command like voice with a purposeful and serious tone.

The command rose with all the sub menus seems slow and difficult to use. Its not good to be stood around in battle for ages searching for a command or request option. Perhaps rather than having a command rose with lots of sub menus, it would be better to have seperate command roses organised by category and bound to different keys thus making selection faster and easier once you’d learned which category was bound to each key.
Many thanks and hope these suggestions help,
Al.
