I actually did this for a cheater about two weeks ago…someone comes around the corner with full health

BLAP BLAP DEAD…and this guy was using an AK, which isn’t a 2 shot weapon. And it wasn’t headshots either.

Had another match where it was as obvious as day he was hacking since he was auto-spamming his website (which was also his name…) and full SMG-spray headshots all around for the entire match…no kicks from the other team, because they’d have gotten wrecked.

It kinda seems like the situation is getting worse in competitive mode. Pubs are fine but 3 out of the 3 competitive games I played yesterday had a blatant cheater in them.

Nah, it’s been fine up until today. There is some cheater group that is specifically targeting DB today with a new cheat. I know support is working their asses off.

Don’t mind me, just idling this competitive game while I get spawncamped by the new cheat today.

Also I’m changing my position on fairfight. You can’t counter something that’s statistic based. And statistically, it’s impossible to shoot shotgun spread of bullets out of a sniper rifle. Or get multiple headshots within .01 seconds.

You can definitely set a threshold to ban the most blatants instantly.
At least the old cheaters could be possible to kill every so often.

I’ve got to say personally that there has also been only 1 definite case of cheating in my experience as well (not in 200 hours but still over 100) so I have to say personally that the whole cheating issue is extremely overblown, most likely caused by new players being frustrated at the unbalanced games that get them stomped, which is of course present by the current system of balancing games.

1 confirmed VAC ban applied almost instantaneously.

@avidCow I have two things to say. 1) that image probably contravenes forum rules re: name and shame and 2) I’ve seen as many cheaters since the Redeye patch as in my previous >220 hours of gameplay.

And btw, only because this hack now is public… for FREE… doesn’t mean it hasn’t been used before. It only means “bad” (not in opposite to good, as there are none by definition) cheaters now use it, even obvious enough again for blind people to see it.

edit: Btw… For free… Mhm, I hope as “free” as facebook, so after downloading it, one piece of scum steals from the other :wink:

I don’t think it’s appropriate to make a general statement if DB is overrun by hackers or not.

The hack-programmers have their development cycles and their discoveries of loopholes, so there might be times when it is not overrun, but at this point in time it’s horrible.

That name-changing hack just made the round, since then i can barely find a comp match without a hacker. I do not have a huge sample size, but if i get 6-7 hacked games out of 10, chances are you can call it overrun… even if i was just unlucky.

I already said what happened. A new cheat was released and a cheater group is specifically targeting Dirty Bomb. Up until yesterday everything was mostly fine in regards to pub play. This event doesn’t erase all the time that came before it.
