The rage release was apparently terrible on PC. Loads of graphics issues (both ATI and Nvidia) with lots of people unable to play.
Texture popping all over the place and drivers being released like crazy with rollbacks needing to be applied if your an XXX user who applied the YYY patch etc -_-

Bethesda… when will you properly QA a game and let the devs finish it before you demand your payment?

Beth is the reason I didn’t preorder Rage and at this rate I may not pick it up at all.

I like the game and then again, kinda disappointed. Pros: Amazing graphics (best i’ve seen), liked the racing and car upgrades, nice handling of weapons etc…just overall fun. Cons: I wish the game could have been a little longer, no leve…ling system, but my main problem with this game was the lack of emotional attachment. Usually in a game I really like I get attached to the characters and the player…you just cant care about what happens really. The main character doesnt even have a name. Daniel Zamudio I want to know why the scorchers are spoken of in good detail, but there are no signs of them, or their boss named Reaver, in that game. I never even saw a clan battle. Why oh why are the scorchers in there, but only as vehicles. I wanted to see those punk rock vikings in action!!! C’mon!!!

To clarify that a bit - new features tend to introduce new issues. The clan update is a big one, so it has required extensive testing time.

I didn’t expect the clan update to be built into the game itself. I thought it would just be a website thing. I’m pleasantly surprised.

I’m guessing it is going to be a scheduled match/challenge system…since there isn’t a large enough population for clan matchmaking.

What are live ratings? Is it like Elo? Personally, I wouldn’t anything that factors in win loss since that would discourage people from switching teams. Brink works best like a pickup basketball game in my opinion… no stats kept…just people playing for the game itself.

Yeah like Elo. I’m not too fussed about switching teams. That can be solved externally by making the match weigh less if less people actively participated.

Not much info, but they posted on FB the other day after some people criticized their photos of them playing dress up, basically saying focus on Brink update rather than taking pictures and goofing off. Brief response provided of - “The next Brink update has already gone into testing :)”

I know it’s not much and maybe not new, but thought I’d share.

  • 3 more maps, Gold Rush,Siwa Oasis, Würzburg Radar;
  • 2 more guns, mp40 and Thomson;
  • a new Matchmaking system;
  • 2 new modes, Capture the Flag and Team Deathmatch;
  • 1 new class, Field Ops;
  • clan support;
  • more stats;
  • more cutscenes;

    Personally I think we’ll only see weapon tweaks + clan support updates. I could be wrong, but I think we’d have more info about the contents by now if it was bigger in scope. They’ve said previously that the vast majority of their staff have moved onto the next project and only a handful (I think I read 3 somewhere but don’t quote me because that really doesn’t sound like enough. Does it?) of people are left working on the Brink update.

On the other hand maybe they learned their lesson from apparently announcing the last DLC too early and are just keeping their mouth’s shut until everything is complete. They did suggest earlier that there might be some surprises in store.

Lol, keep what players? I know there are a few people that still play but honestly, I see more people still playing tribes 2.

I loved the game minus the gun/random spread mechanic, and got 225 hours out of it but at this point, nothing will save brink. If it does I’ll be overjoyed, but I just don’t see it happening. And with BF3 around the corner, even if somehow all things wrong with brink were made perfect it would be hard to come back for anything more than a trial of what is new.

    did you just decide to make some things up that sound good? TDM = stupid. CTF = SMART anyway. that would be awesome… field ops not necessary, just maybe another way to restore supply pips slightly quicker.
