Sniping

(Breo) #41

I actually think why movements matter to all the other weapons except for the sniper. It’s probably too much to add a penalty when you strafe but I’m not sure about 100% accuracy while you jump.

(scre4m.) #42

Ya, shooting while jumping feels inaccurate.
I cannot go into deep a lot here, cause I did not play enough sniper to give an overall feedback. But I dont think this will ever change, as quickscoping wont be included while TTK and range of other weapons make them superior to sniper anyway.

Jumping while shooting a sniper rifle should not be accurate - working as intended?

(Volcano) #44

i sure hope so nail

(INF3RN0) #45

I never saw a lot of reason why it shouldn’t be. I consider it to be a lot harder to hit a target when your jumping up and have a split second to aim and shoot, rather than just standing or crouching. It would help if the sniper didn’t do so much damage though.

(nailzor) #46

Go outside and shoot a rifle while you jump, lemme know how accurate you are with that champ!

(INF3RN0) #47

Uh… what kind of a response is that- surely your not using realism as a reason… You don’t think it’s harder to jump and shoot a sniper rifle? If someone can jump snipe me then kudos to them from my pov.

(nailzor) #48

This is another example of you not reading correctly. Sniping while jumping should NOT be accurate. Do you understand now? Putting it as nicely as I can :stuck_out_tongue:

You said you did not know of a reason it should not be accurate.

(Breo) #49

Hey are we still talking about shooting while using the scope

Check the decals while you jump and scoped, the shots are pretty much 100% accurate for me.

(Humate) #50

Its a nice move imo, although mid jump they become an easier target in most counter sniping situations.

(DJScream) #51

It’s pretty accurate if you scope+jump+shoot. I have got some kills like that and it’s very stupid. Every gun is actually too accurate while jumping. The bullets should be flying 45 degrees to a random direction so there’s no way you can hit.

I asked why it shouldn’t be because it sounded like you were saying jumping should make the bullet exit randomly? I can read, but why not just respond with a straight forward answer then hurp.

Side note, jumping in general is a nice feature in my opinion. Your adding vertical movement to the mix, which makes it harder to hit a target and your also able to counter low sens head line aimers. There still ought to be a decent spread multiplier for hip fire jumping though.

Definitely, not many games have had this feature.

(INF3RN0) #54

Since I can never tell if your humoring yourself or are serious… I’m referring to jumping while shooting being viable to an extent and most so when iron sighted (where I’d like no spread multiplier at all). So then you would agree? Most people hate on bunny hoppers, though the most I’ve heard of why it’s annoying is that they can’t headline track as easily.

(nailzor) #55

While jumping, accuracy should be exponentially worse than standing still or crouching.

(Nail) #56

this, how the F could it be otherwise, no “bullet time” here please

(INF3RN0) #57

I think jumping should always result in higher spread than any other movement stance, that’s a given. But why should it be so high that it’s not viable at all? And what about when iron sighting? Just wondering because when your jumping you still have to aim your gun and it also becomes more difficult to aim in general.

(Nail) #58

as an experiment, I got one of my 22s with a scope and tried jumping and scoping, maybe Matrix can, but I couldn’t even on lowest power. You have to hoist that barrel into position and hold it 2 feet out while inertia and gravity don’t want it to move, plus when you land the scope will bash you in the face

(Protekt1) #59

You gotta keep perfect posture.

But seriously on the snipers, I like how they are right now. Recon has an amazing utility that can’t be replicated and a 1hk capable weapon. Even body shots are amazing for assisting your teammates. I like the unsettling of your scope while you’re between shots. I’m real happy with the way that adds a little bump in the road when it comes to firing multiple shots back to back. If you want to utilize the highest ROF you have to deal with what I see as just a road bump. I think the damage is not too high and perhaps could be a little lower but its definitely in a fine spot considering that road bump, at least this is all my opinion of it all.

I’m okay with snipers jumping and firing… cause everyone else can do it and they don’t need to scope either. They can scope in and jump and be effective too.

I think once they reduce the ttk as they said they plan to, snipers are going to be in a dominate position to wreck people from range.

TIL when you have to duel irl don’t be jumping it’ll make your bullets fly all over the places… better just stick to strafing
