Sniping

Oh right I forgot these games are based off of pure realism… zzzz

gotta be at least basic physics involved, otherwise we’re back playing low grav panzer wars

I’m only speaking about scoped shooting with the sniper rifle, iron sights on an assault rifle, you could hit stuff

edit; not iron sights, but aim through red dot or holo

I’m not at all implying that gravity mechanics change, but simply wondering why people think that when you jump spread has to be non-viable. As far as scoping on every weapon, I don’t see jumping requiring a different treatment with the already massive movement reduction.

What most people have a problem with in basic jumping during fire fights is that more people than not who have played these games are stuck with a particular style of aiming. Why is strafe headline aiming the only thing that makes sense other than that’s what people are used to (that’s what I don’t get)? I see some moderate encouragement to jump while shooting to simply raise the bar and make fire fights a bit more interesting. After all the guy who can strafe and still track a jumping target’s head will still win, but jumping can be a nice maneuver when trying to dodge bullets mid-firefight. I used to complain about jumpers myself, but then I thought about it… they are sacrificing spread for mobility and are only making it harder for me to aim at their head. It’s not like strafing and jumping spreads are identical, but the part being that someone jumping can actually kill a target.

There’s not much difference between crouching or jumping while shooting because both immobilize you and change the hitboxes. Crouching obviously is more limited. The basic question here is why is there a need to exponentially nerf spread while jumping in hipfire and why would it need to be different at all in ironsight? Realism is a non-factor because these games aren’t meant to be real, they are just meant to be balanced mathematically.

hold a broomstick under your eye, jump off a chair, call me when you get out of hospital

not a physical possibility

They should bring back sway then :stuck_out_tongue:

Strafe jumping is a physical impossibility as well, guess we’re glad that got canned. Also full auto firing at high accuracy with almost no recoil is a tad farfetched. Seriously if no one can come up with a better explanation than “realistic impossibility” then I give up… this isn’t real life.

TIL: Broomsticks are guns.
