I have never thought of it as lame. I understand your point though, Ubiquitous.
What the problem for me is that I use cg_fov 110 and when i deploy the MG42 it goes to cg_fov 90, automaticly, now my sensitivity feels wierd and the “grid blocks” are big. Let’s say a guy is behind a tree and I can just see a little of him. The way it is now I can not always get my crosshair to hit him nomatter how hard I try because Enemy Territory skips a few mm everytime I move my mouse. Lowering my sensitivity would make me able to hit where I wanted to and I am sure this is perfectly legal.
I agree that some sensitivity things can be lame. In UrbanTerror (Quake3 “realism” conversion) some people lowered the X axis’ sensitivity and fixed their crosshair so it would be in the height of their opponents head. On horizontal maps this could be a good advantage if you had the right scripts. That was lame.
I don’t think what I am asking for is that bad, but it all depends on which games you have played before and how badly you want to win. Playing competevively or just having a few maps with some beers in the evening on a public server.
