Just joined these forums to say I also have this issue (4850 with 11.3 drivers).
[Renderer] Texture gridding on Radeon 4xxx series
I also have this problem.
ATI Radeon 4800
Game looks like a lot of fun. Can’t wait for this be resolved.
11.5 and 5a hotfix kills my machine. Can’t do any 3d accel or video. Rolled back to 11.3 and Brink is at least playable again with “gridding”. Forgot to check GPU load and temps.
Wanted to go ahead and say that I too am having this issue. I have an ATI 4650 which I know isn’t the best card out there but the game runs pretty decently witch shadows off, which I don’t even mind. The constant crashes and gridlines however, I do mind. Extremely annoying.
I plan on updating my PC in the future but until then, I want to play this game so hopefully these issues are fixed soon.
AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz
4GB RAM
Windows 7 64-bit
Radeon 4850
I’m getting these lines too, very bad and distracting. Splash Damage, please fix this quickly, thank you very much.
Just a Quick Questions, Is anyone having the same problem with Window XP - I have yet to buy Brink, and was wondering if XP is the Platform of Choice
I am getting the game on Friday and i have an ATI 4890 card. Is there already some solution? Does it affect all ATI users?
Some remark from SD would be very helpful.

They have better things to do than reply to us such as the following image from SD offices.

Well they put Bethesda on the case, and I can’t remember the last time they fixed one of their own games instead of the community doing it for them
so we’re screwed
Odd that for a game that’s been in development for so many years it wasn’t tested on an ENTIRE SERIES of video cards ONCE.

Just an an update, I found out today that a splash damage employee has been posting on Neogaf.com in their Brink thread. They said they’re looking into the issues with 4xxx series cards.
As a side note, if you turn off shadows and run the game on low settings with a lower resolution than your monitor, the grid becomes less noticeable. So, if your desperate to play that should help.
Yes - XP Pro (32-bit) on an ATI HD 4850 with Catalyst 11.2 (not that the version appears to matter in this case) driver still has this texture gridding problem.
just another sad 4870 user reporting they are a very sad panda. what with the grid and the lag and the pain and all.
