I cant seem to actually kill anything with the grandeur. those 2-3 times i nailed headshots it was sweet (or an aura coming around the corner in the head), but between the inaccurate hipfire after the first shot and and wierd sight when ADSing i havent nailed many headshots, and if u go to the body its killpower stinks due to the ROF and requiring 3-4 shots on most mercs. it kinda feels like a gimped sniper.

it seems like it has the limitations the dreiss used to, except you could at least spam accurate shots while ADSing with the driess. I dunno… anyone have any luck with his m14?

You get one headshot, then a bodyshot, it’s all over for any fucker who gets in your way.

Actually, it’s perfectly accurate for the first 2 shots, 3rd shot goes down and to the left and then it goes random.

I was doing a 10/21 in this comp match and brought it back up to 37/28 on defender side, and we won on chapel by 1 second
THE EV WAS LITERALLY TOuCHING THE CHECKPOINT. (I was using RedEye on defender side, I would have probably done even better w/ the Dreiss, instead I was using the G SR)

My first impressions were pretty positive with him, I had to get use to his more… slow and more tactful style over cooking, lobbing and going in guns blazing like I usually would with Fragger (nets a surprising amount of kills oddly enough)

I’m still trying to get the hang of the smoke grenade as it can hinder your team pretty badly if you’re careless with it, and the IR can burn out pretty quickly so you have to make every shot under the smoke count. Speaking of shots i’m not sure how to feel about the G SR, I was wondering if maybe it was just me but after reading a few posts here it seems the gun’s accuracy goes to off the wall after three or four consecutive shots.

Compared to the dreiss AR again I just don’t know how to feel about the weapon, it might have a little less firepower then the G SR but I can land more reliable shots head or not.

Overall he’s pretty balanced, my gripes with PDP barrages aside.

He seems fun and might have a lot of potential. Using the smoke effectively takes some practice and if used carelessly in pubs can help the enemy team more instead of yours… I really hope he finds a role in high competetive play.

I really like Dreiss with the buff to spread!

Grandeur however: Powerful but slow, so it might be good in a same way as BR-16 is “good” for a fragger/skyhammer, I don’t know I haven’t had the time to test it that much yet.

Grandeur is fucking op, i raped everyone yesterday, 2 bullets and good bye (1HS & 1nutshot).
It’s the same mercs it was in the closed beta, i love him.

The dispersion is huge tho, even the second bullet is not 100% accurate , that’s why you should HS at the 1st bullet or tempo the second for getting back your accuracy.

With this weapon you must take your time and the result is incredible.

Quick first impression from playing 1-2 maps

The Grandeur will not be better then the Dreiss, medium and short range its hands down far worse and i think at long range it would be somewhat even.

The Smoke grenade and the wallhack to match are pretty fun and gimmicky at first since most people will get rekt till the counter meta is in place.

Until i know full mechanics of the merc which i will text extensively today i could say this may have its role in competitive, eg. smoke objective, plant bomb, or smoke objective, use wallhacks to cover bomb planter.

I don’t know why, but I always try to spam it, when it just doesn’t work. Shooting every once in a while is the way to go. Line up your shots, then take them. I was once in a spam firefight with another redeye, we both probably hit about 2 shots from 2 magazines.

I love the SR but it needs a few small fixes imo. I wouldn’t mind a SLIGHT recoil reduction when ADS, bloom however is perfectly okay I think. The sights also need fixing, there a little bit off and it feels like I have to “miss” to hit things.

I like the idea of the grandeur, but plz give it better iron sights/reddot.
had a couple of times when I found an enemy standing still mid/long range, I take my time to line up a nice headshot and boom, miss

also maybe let the gun come back to full accuracy a little bit quicker after first shot plz

smokes are pretty fun and useful, especially if you have 2 decent redeye smoking around the objective and hiding in their own smokes

Smokes are awesome for mind games. Already people expect Redeye to stand in smoke. So throw smoke around a corner, pop a few shots off to get there attention then counter flank them from the other side. Easy kills, easy life.

So many fun uses with that ability.

Except even if Redeyes are only going for kills and not the objectives they’ll likely unintentionally spot enemies with the IR goggles, thus unintentionally contributing more to the team than the Vassili players who only snipe. There is literally no reason to not use the IR goggles to help you find enemies.

I agree with you here. The smoke is my favorite because it’s a mental obstruction aswell as an actual obstruction. The expectation of Red-Eye makes people either stay and wait the smoke out, or take another route - which is where I’ll be waiting, popping some heads~

This is not what I expected this thread to say. :grimace: I’m expecting plenty of smoke trolling in the future, that free rotation should be fun.
