You can zoom the minimap in and out.
So basically any indoor area?
Due to the size of Brink maps this is going to be problem across the whole map.

Only if you are sprinting, and there is an ability to allow radar invisibility and sprint.
In COD the low accuracy of the radar is so great because the entire focus of the game is killing people. When the game revolves around killing the accurate radar is cheap indeed. But for an objective driven game the priorities lie elsewhere, an accurate radar give teams the ability to organise themselves better and tactics will become more prevalent.
I think an accurate radar will fit Brink just fine. An inaccurate radar wouldn’t be a loss, but it would shift the emphasis of the game a bit more to the more mundane individual shooting.
Radar won’t indicate elevation. Also if it’s a maze-like interior they could not even be reachable by you. Radar blips won’t mean everyone has a glowing outline like in Left 4 Dead. Also remember the game is going to be fast paced. You’ll likely rely more on sound and staying out of the open. This game is not just ‘battleship’, there will be plenty going on so I doubt the radar feature will be as terrible as you imagine.
Level ups! More variety to each player that makes predictions and assumptions less likely to be true. Prevents one set of combinations from being a definitive counter to everything.
Radar isnt bleeping it shows constantly the red dots and where u go .It is not like cod from the vids ive seen.Radar proves usefull in choke points like the objective when u have to move the vechicle or planting the bomb.U see someone coming with sprint and u just spam nades grenade launcher an he gets dmg without seeing you but as Exedore said
if there is a counter to this radar then its Fine by me .Many thnx for this info cause it was crucial for me to buy this game or not.
P.S thnx for asnwering our questions cause in many other game’s forums ppl dont .I appreciate that !
hard to take a thread seriously thats called “RaDAr and how it wokrs!”
Indeed, I liked the look of the radar in the footage so far nice and simple - it doesnt need a map like most games have. Less is more imo
It isn’t full time. It’s situation dependent, like Exedore just said. Being seen firing your weapon or sprinting reveals you on the radar, which makes sense because you’d probably hear someone running near you if have a sense of their position even in real life. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were abilities that enabled “cloaking” of some kind either.
Edit: confirmed by Exedore’s above post.

Yes my bad i should say from the moment you are being spotted red dot remains all the time .
I think the concept you’re trying to introduce is ultimately foreign in this era. We’re at the point where posts like this are like trying to make people see some 5th dimension that they can’t ever perceive.
Love PC gamers such as you who automatically assume he is a console player. I play both by the way. (Sarcastic statement follows)…Also, you do know that CoD is on the pc as well…if you didn’t I guess that would make you a complete noob to the gaming world. I love pc gaming but can’t stand how elitist it is. Game on your preferred system(s) and leave your judgements to your self please. And yes, I judged you because or your posting of a typical “I game on PC’s and everyone else is inferior comment.”
Cheers.
It’s not because of the PC public that the Voice chat is friends-only by default.
I don’t think that can honestly be pinpointed. But generally it is thought of that younger individuals have more ease accessing a console platform over a PC and they will demonstrate their maturity levels regardless. But now I’ve put the derail three posts in.
Did you know radar is the acronym for radio detection and ranging?
Radar detection relies on reflected radio waves. Generating high powered noise at the radar’s frequency will jam it.
There is only one man who would dare give me the raspberry!
Michael Winslow lol
Thank you for the insight, sir!
And Thank you for the Michael Winslow video video of the day!

It’s more along the lines of, “I game on PC, so therefore I tend to have an overall better understanding of “how things work,” including hardware and game mechanics, since the PC caters to an older more mature audience, and typically, PC gamers need to understand more than simply press power, insert game. Not to mention that the PC itself is a tool, not simply an entertainment device.”
I see a majority of PC gamers who get dubber “elitists” are simply more knowledgeable in the topic at hand, and just get called names when they point out things that others don’t want to hear, regardless how true or rational they are.
