I have decided we will let it come down to this:

  • In the group stage you will play 2 maps against each opponent, 1 map you start, 1 map the other person start. You can pick any map you want (of the non-expansion pack maps). The other player can then decide whether to pick a different map or play the same map.

The turn limit is 48 hours, it’d be nice to play a lot faster but it can of course happen that 1 player just is away for 1 full day.

After modifying the cup page with the latest updates rules this noon and putting the seeds correct, we’ll start this afternoon.

If the maps are not predetermined, everyone would pick Favela going first. It is almost a guarantee win. If the opponent also choses Favela then all the games will be draws

And Favela is a expansion map… so there will be no fights there.

Just to tighten up your ruling in terms of verbage: You mean Rio NON EXPANSION maps will be allowed except Favela. Otherwise you just threw in construction and lapa, etc:)

Also you should clarify that the way to claim a 48 hour forfeit is to screenshot the “Waiting for turn” screen showing “two days” next to the opponent. Do you want to make an exception if someone asks for an extra day for a good reason, or just be brutal (my vote)?

Also just to clarify draws a bit, its on agreement of both players, but maybe add that one player can submit a screenshot of a position to the forum and if people agree its a draw, it can be forced. What you would seek to avoid is the player who simply refuses to agree to draw, but neither player is making any headway and slowing things down.

Other than those little tweaks, I think you have a much better set of rules this time. Great Job!

Groups and all matches are now online, the finalized rules are also there at the ‘Rules’ tab. If I made any mistake in them please let me know :slight_smile: I’ll also send a mail out tomorrow to all participants.

To get a quick overview of your matches you can click ‘My Matches’ in the right menu.

When I look at “My Matches”, I see Crozzton paired with me twice. I think this is a mistake in the webpage.

I can’t find SgtChaos.

The number of paired games seems way off, I think maybe either some got paired twice and/or the later groups are missing games.

and 2 games against mitsid babydontcry and renman3000

the rules say 2 games against each. so where shall I enter the score for each scenario now :frowning: ?

2 games done, 2 games with mitsid are heating up, friend request to the others is pending

If you look on the bracket page it self (here: http://trackbase.net/rad/c4/RAD-World-Cup ) at the bottom, you should only see a match against each opponent. Seems to be a bug at the my matches page, gonna fix that ASAP.

Found it already, missed some check in the SQL hence it was double-displaying the same matches in another group. It’s fixed now. Everything else stays the same, the bug was only that it displayed the same matches double in another group, so both matches still had the same ID.

Nice, quick fix Paul. I have to say this now has the look and feel of a real, serious tourney. Congratulations on putting it all together and I’m honored to participate:) I really think we’ll look back on these growing pains and be glad for what we produced–hopefully a long running, cool ass competition!
