Activision should deliver what they promise no matter where you live.
Question with pre-order
about three months ago you could…but now EBay forbids sales of virtual property…

I know this is a trick commonly used by coin collectors: the money may not be sold for a higher price than the coin is worth, so they sell the cardboard as “extra value” even though it costs less than the coin itself.

If you to sell the pre-order kit, thats another story. Remeber BF2142 preorder…i have seen the go on ebay (especially the one from Best Buy) go for 50-80 bucks. I guess people want that skined gun.
You should do it, buy a shit load of preorder kits, and sell them on ebay for 5-10 bucks more.
a) you will make some $$$ to play off your fund for ETQW…lol
b) able to sell it to peeps that cannot get it from their local retailers.
I put down $5 at EB games. BestBuy sells the game for $10 more, not sure why because their staff are just as bad as anywhere else. Does anyone know where I can buy the game online?
Here, on this site it says:
Your unique keycode will be emailed on Thursdays. Poster and cards will ship with game upon release. Please provide a valid email address when ordering.
You can by the game online anywhere that sells games. Try out Amazon, i been hearing good things on hot release titles from them (having them in stock and shipping asap).
Well I don’t know what the fuss was about, the registration code was in the pre-order box and everything is good to go. I’m a little upset I have to go back to the mall to pick it up, I always end up buying Wendy’s and I’m on a low-fat diet.
just as i predicted…lol
at least the seller, xshesaidshesaid, is selling @ retail “buy now” price rather than a bidding purchase.
So let’s have an idea of the availability of the pre-order kit in my region :
Future Shop
Montreal , Laval, St-Jerome : none but they are trying to get some, well they say so
Best Buy
Laval, Montreal : none in stock don’t believe they will ever have some
EB Games
EB Games #1612 : had one yesterday, sold
EB Games #1609 : none in stock no ETA a big maybe
EB Games #1847 : none in stock no ETA
EB Games #1843 : none in stock no ETA
EB Games #1742 : 1 in stock, hopefully will still be there tomorow
EB Games #1736 : none in stock no ETA
God that leaves me with a lot of choice, how come it’s so god damm hard to have in Montreal
Still looking for my copy
I live in friggin Winnipeg and I don’t even bother with the preorders. I was in futureshop a few days ago, and I checked the shelves, and there were no quake wars anywhere.
I remember a long time ago, there are games that didn’t have the game inside and it said preorder only. Maybe that is what I’m looking for.
I was told by the guy at EB games that they don’t have the game in stock, but when it comes in they will call you. You can preorder without the box and just leave your e-mail address, then they will email you the code that you need to reserve your name.
I’m positive they will take your preorder, its only $5. They should have the boxes behind the counter, but if not you will still get it all when the game ships.
Winnipeg, ya say, Howdy neighbor
South End myself, Fort Rouge.
“Naked Ape” at SD is from here as well
I live in the richmond west area which is southern winnipeg but north of st norbert. Where is fort rouge? different city? Or is it in a suburb of winnipeg?
I google mapped the fort rouge and it is near the st vital area. I live south of that. So I’m more closer to the US. Hah.
If I’m wrong on this, blame google maps.
Unfortunately, winnipeg is not like Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal. Sucks. Very small and has no subway, tram, and monorail system. All we get is buses and cars and bikes and foot. The only railway lines we get is freight trains and the via rail.
yep, close, just south of Osborne Village area
gotta remember, not everyone thinks 700,000 is a small city
oh that area. OK I might know what you mean. From my place, it actually takes a few hours drive to get to the united states border. I also have access to the perimeter highway south end. So I’m pretty much close to the edge of the city, except with St norbert out of the way.
Wow can’t believe that, and also naked ape is from here too. Too bad my cousin is moving to halifax. He will be seeing lots of boats where we won’t see any.
I still don’t think we are going to get a preorder without buying from the US. Even though I live in winnipeg, but closer to the US, I don’t have stretchy arms and eyes on my hands to go to an EB or gamestop in Grand Forks or Fargo and buy one. If Montreal, second largest city in canada has only one ETQW preorder for all EBgames, just think how many smaller cities would get.
When the game comes out, I’m going to test out the mechanism of each weapon first before I join a server. Just to see how each works. That’s what I actually want to see. Spread, feel, etc etc.
Same here, called a couple of Best Buys, EB Games and they had no clue what the hell I was talking about… I think I read somewhere that the promotion(not sure wich one) started the 12th so hopefully everything will be sorted out today.
I’ll keep you updated if I find anything new.
Dude, they said they don’t know what you’re talking about? That makes no sense at all. BestBuy maybe, but EB Games? No way.
Trust me, they know what it is @ EB. You just tell them you wanna preorder Quake Wars and you’re guaranteed a copy. I know this for a fact.
I know I can pre-order the game from both those stores. They had no clue about the whole email/registration code thing. Pre-ordering is not an issue, I just wanna reserve my nickname…
