will there be bots for the MP game ? sorry this is my first post here . will there be SP game ? i think if there ganna be bots for MP game, it will be the #1 FPS game in the world just like Quake3 used to be .

I have to say though that there are no bots, sorry.
There has been a long discussion some time ago. Please search for that one to know everyone’s point of view AND the most important reasons for not including them.

No, no bots with the game, anyway once the SDK will be here, I think that some dudes will do it.

no multiplayer bots out of the box, but as mentioned above, most likely someone will come along and make some.

thx for all ur replies ! jzz, i love bot , since Q4 there is no BOT for MP game , all my dream is the bot in ET:QW …but … that is ok, i hope the SDK will help us.

But as mentioned, forums have search functions so for questions like these you could just google for it or search at forums with info about it before asking it to teh community like 7430298759823 others did before you. But I know the “new topic” way is faster

due to licensing issues the pastel equines were replaced with non copyrighted tapirs as the muses of the forums

When ET:QW wasn’t announced, all we knew was that SD were working on a game using the Doom 3 engine… it was widely hoped that it was a game based on My Little Pony, it was then rumoured that the Ponys were infact going to be Tapirs… then to much disgust, SD announced it was infact ET:QW they were developing and nothing to do with Tapirs. The hardcore few though are still lobbying to get tapirs in the game somewhere, and hopefully get an expansion pack made soon after release… ET: Tapir Wars.
It’s just an in joke, you’re not missing out on much.

THEY MUST!!! What is ET:QW without a tapir easter egg? It’s like Battlefield 2 without bugs! Its just something it needs to have to be what it is!
Lazy ppl at SD… How long would it take to fix this and how can can it be possible teh search function got broke…

we only realised it was a joke after the tapirs were mentioned. after all the market for tapir realated games is very saturated but there is hight demand for exploration in pony realated games and with SD experiance of fps games it seemed like the most likely course of action

Lack of MP bots is very painful to Quake 4’s MP. Most players won’t join an empty server but they will join a server with bots to await for human players. At least that’s the case with arena style games.

areana stye bots are a lot simpler then the bots that would be needed by qw. a navigation system to get around usualy pretty tight areas and some knowledge of the weapons. and the location of items though the map
by the look of things anyway, with much more open maps you dont get the same kinda of very nice coridoors and rooms like with arenaa maps and nevigation becomes much more important. and it becomes less about running from point A to point B and more about titical movment and oftne stealth
when you fighting bots that are not very smart it can still be pretty fun just seeing how many you can blow away. but wen you are relying on the bots to perform objectives for you i think they would be quite frstrating
