I know that. Maxpackets 15 is the default if you set your connection type to modem, 30 is lan/cable/dsl. My questions is, WTF is -15 ? It makes no sense. How can your client send less than 0 updates per second ? :uhoh:
Oh and bogs, r_allowextensions doesn’t turn on/off software rendering either. It enables or disables the use of extensions to the core opengl spec. r_allowSoftwareGL lets you use software rendering, if your system can’t find anything better.
when i first enabled pb i had ppl complaining about this & that, picmip is too low, i get crappy fps, the game freezes, i can hack it if i want etc etc
after a while the cvar settings settled to a level everyone (i cared about) could play nicely and i even challenged my clan and fellow clans to find a working cheat for pb.
after some weeks (and many-many unbans 
) we just went on playing wolf (and now et) like we should be doing and never got bothered by pb again.

Well your right again. I’m wrong. I’m wrong about most things you have to read off a website and commit to memory cause most of the time I could care less unless I’m trying to fix something.
Still unrefutable is the fact that you are all in love with punkbuster because of the marketing. Your as stupid as the little girls who love spice girls and brittany spears. Don’t believe the hype kids. Punkbuster is crappy software and needs to be REPLACED! (I know full well it will never be replaced, nor will their QA ever be taken seriously because they have you all under a little marketing spell and they can do no wrong in your eyes… I am allowed to vent though)
I got once kicked for using very low mip mapping level (was cvar_mipmap or smth) and three time for having a low resolution, but these settings were made by the game setup since i used “fastest” in the options->system menu.

I would have kept ETQW, but I refuse to use PB as I see it as a breach of privacy. The game is alright with bots, but I never get to play with many real players. This I think, is 1 of the worst things splash damage did when they made this game. They added PB. I refuse to play now because I can’t join any servers with real players because I hate PB
