Predicting SD's next game!

A FPS. Something deep and compelling.

The game will not automatically be good and better with the most powerful game engine. The war between the engines is waste of time I think. If we all were thinking like this all game was to be based on Cryengine?

I think Unreal Engine is quite amazing as it is. But on the other hand, I am not an expert on game engines, but if I were I would probably say they should use Frostbite 2 by DICE which is made in Sweden, as me (and I am awesome :D)

Fast, coordinated, polished, POLISHED, POLISHED!

I want to feel like I can constantly improve because the skill ceiling is so, so, so SKY HIGH!

I want to die, and when I die I want to think “hmm, I could’ve done that better”

Feeling like I could always improve individually and in a team keeps me playing.

The last environment test was something to go by (an Ark water cooler and a Container City balustrade)

So let’s have a look at this:

Let’s assume this is anything to go by. The way the high tech part is tacted on the conventional building resembles the way Strogg ‘adapted’ the buildings in ETQW (Outskirts) or what the Covenant did in HL2. Now the segment is a bit ambiguous. The pavement suggests it could be a prefab building to put in natural terrain, like ETQW, but the conventional building is only a front which ought to be part of a city-scene (Think HL2 again or Gears of War). So concerning the ‘scale’ at which the game takes place it can go both ways. It certainly doesn’t look as compact and intimate as Brink.

Tribes: Ascend? It’s F2P also.

Today it’s normal for game developpers to primarely focus on the consoles and cash some extra thousands on the console ports.

It might be “normal” but is by no means necessary - look at Valve and Blizzard. Two very well-known and successful dev studios who have primarily (and many times exclusively) develop for PC.

Which platform the game is developed on is not the problem - its the quality of the game they release.
