Brink sold really well, an SDK early on would have worth while, it wasn’t till later that it became worthless.
Nice, except that a RAGE SDK is in the works…
Also it’s always not up to the developer either, it’s the publisher who’s paying.

Natural Selection 2 is not F2P. It cost 35 dollars to pre-order which gets you into the monthly builds of the game. Completely worth it though.
What’s the last FPS game that got released on the PC only? I would be amazed if splashdamage would release a FPS game for the pc only, I also think that it wouldn’t be profitable.
Today it’s normal for game developpers to primarely focus on the consoles and cash some extra thousands on the console ports. If splashdamage just spends some extra time on the PC for their next multiplatform title I think most of us will be happy. I also wouldn’t mind if that would mean that we (pc players) have to wait another 3 months before the game gets released.
Brink is practically free and people arent playing that game. Why? Its a console game.
The ET model simply doesnt translate across multiple platforms, and PC players are not going to buy a PC game from SD that isnt based on ET.
In other words they have no leverage. They could possibly do what they did with ETQW, and port the game to console, but then they would be shooting themselves in the foot with their “console fanbase”… if that even exists. My bad it does, they have the 20 people in the BHG.
Sorry, Im having trouble understanding your english, nonetheless.
The reason Ive said idtech5 for pc is:
SDK has no relevance in my post…
What’s the last FPS game that got released on the PC only?
Hard Reset, but it didn’t have a MP.
My out of my ass guesses:
-Unreal 4.
-New XBOX and PC only.
-New IP
-They are going to focus more on a playable SP campaign with a story.
-MP mode will play more like BF3 RUSH and less like previous games. Will also include other game modes like DM/TDM.
-MP will be 24 player max.

You’re right for publisher !
neverandless -
Brink’s sold well , ok , ( happy for SD ! ) ; … but there was almost nobody to playing on line after 6 months (PC) . I’m sure that You remember ETQW after 6 months - lot of people still on line , even 2 years after ! That’s The Game what I called “successful”. Good timming for a SDK is 'about 4 months after when the game go out ! Later one - is burned ! ( my opinion ).
RAGE’s SDK - probably I’ve read some “fake” , …
since the June 2011 any new news from ID & Bethesda ?? I’ve not been really searching …
http://www.develop-online.net/news/37974/Rage-SDK-confirmed
Before they release their next game, (ETQW2), they will release a map pack for ETQW containing 6 new maps and three new weapons and a new character class…and the world will come swarming back to ETQW, weeping with glee at its brilliance.
WHAT IS WARCHEST?
We’re a brand-new publisher of downloadable games with production values you might expect from games you would normally buy in shops. By bringing our titles directly to you, we’re saving a whole bunch of money that we’re investing into our games instead.
Better yet, they’re free to download and play!
SECRET GAME (PC)
UNANNOUNCED
This game hasn’t been revealed yet. Check back regularly for news or sign up for convenient email notifications.
So splashdamage next PC game will be F2P and will probably have micro-transactions.
Next SD game will be a PC/Console version of RadSoldiers in the unreal engine and will not be free
For anyone wondering, idtech will not be used anymore as it’s closed down for use by ZeniMax own studio’s only!
It will be F2P. It will be released by WARchest(splashdamage) and they only release F2P games.

So there’s no hope for another install of Enemy Territory? And I don’t mean the Quake episode either. Loyal fans since 2003 play the game, and still today modders keep it alive. We deserve some news I think tbh :P.
I was just guessing with radsoldiers, but the rest I said are facts. Since they already announced they are going to announce a new PC game I think that’ll happen soon anyway. There’s of course always a chance we’ll get some ET/Brink mix (hence those ‘community questions’). Only time will tell!
Yep, but I am glad it says Secret Game (PC). It says nothing about a console, so hopefully it won’t be dumbed down and limited by the console specs.
Well hopefully, as SD is the only game development companies website I’m registered on. I hope that SplashDamage takes note of Call of Duty, and STICKS to it’s roots. Do you now remember the row over World at War, where they changed things, the game isn’t active on console anymore tbh. People still play CoD4, reason? Because it’s like CoD2, in engines sense, and not like CoD3 which was a failure. We did say about ETQW, and I was an idiot back then, and I’m sorry for flaming, but I was correct that it was too late and you should of listened. I play the game with BackSnip3 now and then, and I enjoy it as I’m open minded, but PC gamers are not.
Realism is not always the best thing, netcode, customisation of graphics & map layout/objective play is what makes a successful game. (speaking on behalf of 99% of PC community)
ET is a great game, you released ETPro which saved ET, without it and the SDK it would of been dead in 2005.

Not specificly etpro, but modtools keep/kept the game alive for sure yes
I hope the upcoming game will be a succes like ET again, but we can’t do more then wait and hope

Well I’m sure we can voice our opinions, as words speak louder than waiting :D.
Just please SD developers if you ARE working on another install to the Wolfenstein or Enemy Territory franchise, LISTEN TO US :). If you’re adding new things balance is also important. I know you’re game developers and have a lot more skill than anyone else here, but the community are stubborn and the only way you’ll ever be right is if you ask for help from them. You’ll always get mixed reviews but getting new players doesn’t mean you need to follow the ironsights route & realistic spread.
Objective, rewards & customisation is what keeps players coming back. A leaderboard & NON-RANKING games would be suited. Aim for the competition market also, releasing a public release & COMP release side by side, even if we have to wait.
If you can show you listen, we’ll buy the game. I purchased RTCW 10x, yes that’s right. Purely because I have respect for ID’s work regarding every aspect of the game. Of course not all brand new, but I bought them when I seen them (which is rare now). I even purchased RTCW with ET alongside on the same disc as needed the 1.4 patch preinstalled as 1.4 patch wouldn’t install over my discs install.
Anyhoo, long story short… I paid 10x the amount I should of for a game, and I’m glad I did as I respect the game. I will buy your game if you can show something and WORK WITH THE COMMUNITY.
