What exactly is the difference between the words spelled out and the abbreviation?

I understand the advantages to it. Frankly I’m just not good at. I don’t have the coordination for it and I’m too old and too used to console gaming to re-learn it. That said, I don’t understand the people that fumble with console controllers. The ergonomics of them alone should make it much easier to become accustomed to them- even if you’re a PC player- than the reverse.[/QUOTE]

amen brother

Fine, I’ll vote. 360 for me.

I do plan to get a nice PC sometime in the future though. After watching and listening to one of my friends play some custom L4D2 maps, I thought to myself “I gotta get in on that, even if using the keyboard to move does give me hand cramps.”

You sir are in luck: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards/keyboard/devices/5123
I have one, you can get them for a steal on ebay, comes with a thumb joystick you can program for movement. Once your used to it, and get the hang of a nice compy laser mouse, you sir will be pwn’n

If internet kitty cat can do it you can too!

(Mad Hatter) #87

lol, that does look much more ergonomic than a regular keyboard. Domo.

(LyndonL) #88

Otto, can you please stop posting memes… Every time a meme is posted on a forum a fairy dies.

(MF Maou) #89
  1. I’ve just given up on PC gaming.

(Otto) #90

Given up on PC gaming?! but why ?! :frowning:

(MasterDarKharma) #91

I will be playing my copy on the 360.

(Hansel) #92

It seems that I am getting the Xbox 360 version, which is more convenient option than upgrading my PC again.

I played some Modern Warfare 2 with my Xbox 360 and it was not bad at all when compared to the PC version, I think that similar FPS game like Brink will play just fine with the Xbox 360 controller. I would only use PC for FPS games like Tribes and Quake, in which the console controller simply is not enough. I remember using almost every key on my keyboard when playing the first two Tribes games.

(A.i) #93

PC, never owned a console

(.TheTank.) #94

Looks Like it just be me and the other 22 people in this poll who even KNOW about brink on PS3 :frowning:

(ShoryukenII) #95

PS3 will be fine. I’m already seeing ads. Wait for May to start and I expect them to be flooding in, since the closest PS3 shooter that comes to mind is SOCOM 4 (release wise) and inFamous 2 (can also kind of be considered a shooter) releases after.

(LyndonL) #96

Was considering buying a PS3 today for shoots and giggles so I looked around the major stores n online… STILL $600 (albeit with a couple of games) roughly to buy a 5yo console which will be replaced next year. So, I’m sticking to PC.

I built my gaming pc for $1000… Bahaha.

(Herandar) #97

The PS3 is not going to be replaced next year… Not that I’ve heard anyway, and console launches are announced/leaked pretty far in advance.

Also, see the “Bethesda Piracy” thread (which I believe you created) to see complaints about the pricing of video games in Australia. I guess that inflated pricing applies to consoles too.

(DarkangelUK) #98

Apparently some hardware engineer accidently listed himself as working on the next xbox… penned for 2015. I would expect the next PS around that time as well.

(LyndonL) #99

Many console devs (I think Uncharted 2 and KZ3) have stated that the games have been hindered by the hardware and had to be toned down. The games are/have reached the capabilities of the hardware.

Add to this:
1994 - Playstation released
2000 - PS2 released
2006 - PS3 released… see a pattern?

It’s only a guess but I’d say it’d be a fair assumption. Plus of course there’s no leak of info on the PS4. They want all focus to be on the NGP atm. Once that’s gotten its sales they’ll leak the PS4.

And yes hardware is overpriced here. All Asian/US imported laptops etc are marked up lots :frowning:

Yeah, but the turnover is going to be longer on this generation. Sony & Microsoft rather see Move & Kinect as life-extending add-ons. We’ve reached the point where doubling the processing power or whatever doesn’t result in that drastic of a change in the games. Can it be better, yes, but it’s not going to be the leap that moving from an NES to an SNES was. (Reminiscing about the first time I saw Super Mario World & F-Zero…)

I’m pretty sure I’ve read some discussions about this on the more general gaming websites. None of the big 3 are pushing to start the next generation happen sooner, though if Wii sales continue to drop drastically, I bet we’ll see Nintendo push their next console out the door first.
