This thread has become a waste of time… Half the people are discussing possibilities for changes that might help the game but the other half won’t even think about the possibility of such a minute change that could at discourage the people that abuse /kill.

If you just want to shut down and not be responsive I don’t even understand why you continuously post on this thread.

I’m just talking changes that would help the game overall, not change it drastically.

The important thing here is to try to catch potential problems and make the gameplay better.

As I stated earlier, maxlives = less teamplay. That’s the way it is in Wolf and that’s the way it is in ET, sorry to burst your bubble. I’d like to find a way that helps the game and locks in the teamplay.

Obviously, some of you aren’t open to any suggestions whatsoever. You’re entitled to your opinions of course, but hell, if you can’t even consider a change for a second then why are you wasting everyone’s time by posting over and over here?

Bani - I have posted over and over again that we did not take any demos, so give it a rest, you sound like a broken record. If you can’t open your mind a little bit to possible problems then that’s your thing, not my problem. Also, try to lay off the insults a little. Saying “if you can’t adapt you’re not a good player” is pretty ignorant because yes, we can and have adapted. Just because I use /kill in competetive play doesn’t mean that’s the way things should be. All I’m asking for is a little consideration.

if it were actually a problem, demos would be forthcoming.

since there arent any demos, its obviously not a problem, it shouldnt be touched.

dont go messing with the game on the theory that there might be a problem.

you keep making claims of this-n-that. it is therefore your responsibility to prove your claims. the burden of proof lies on the claimant.

dont complain when nobody takes you seriously because you keep avoiding responsiblity.

I’m not saying you have to be in a clan to know how competetive games work but playing a few games with some better players might be better for both of you. Maybe then you could understand the advantages i’m talking about.

I’ve told you countless times that I’ve only seen this a few times…

I’m not calling to take out /kill at all, at this point I would just like to see it treated like the /kill was in Wolf.

I don’t understand why there would be so much complaining and crying about just taking away a little XP each time you /kill. I mean, there should be a slight bit of punishment for those who don’t want to hold their ground and fight, shouldn’t there?

Anyways, this is getting a bit old. I’m trying to suggest possible ways to improve /kill (nothing radical either) but you guys don’t even want to read it obviously.

Whether or not you have seen a certain strategy in ET is of no real concern to me. What I don’t really understand is why you can’t open your mind for a half second and consider the possibility.

Since I doubt that’ll happen, I think I’m pretty much done posting any new thoughts until one of you posts to insult some more.

IMO there should be at least a little tweaking done to the /kill system so I don’t consider tlaking about it like “flogging a dead horse”.

If people don’t really care about it or have nothing constructive to say either way then I don’t understand why people like that are posting. Think that’s the main reason why this thread is getting a little old.

the thing is no one has come up with an argument against not nerfing /kill there has been plenty of examples explaining how it can be abused and none saying why it shouldnt be nerfed other than they find it a useful tool which is the last thing it should be. Bani has stated he will just use nades if /kill is nerfed so what dose he care if /kill is gone, he dose care because nades is much harder, if we get a client side patc for ET /kill should be an addressed issue so it dosnt become the useful tool it was in wolf, it reallydosnt add anything to the game it just takes it away.

I think /kill shouldn’t be removed and I see still no reason why it should be. It’s part of the game, like it was in RtCW. I’m not so sure about taking 3XP away if one does /kill to prevent XP-denying, it needs skill and therefore it should be a good thing. However if this becomes a huge problem maybe then we can think about nerfing it, but as long as the game is balanced the way it is ATM i want no changes except a bug-fix. Disagree with me, I don’t care. This is my conclusion after reading all that has been said. (And please don’t start the realism-crap. There are some games that tend to obey the tight limits of realism, but ET isn’t one of them)

learn to shoot fast enough so you kill them before they can hit their kill button :wink:

Well at this point I would just like to see it treated like the /kill was in Wolf is all. I don’t think /kill should be taken out of the game at all but there should be maybe a little punishment for using it.

As far as I know no one has mentioned it in conjunction with realism (there are a lot of posts so I might have missed it) but yes, this game isn’t all about realism. To change it for realism’s sake probably wouldn’t be good.

i dont see a problem with just taking away 3 XP since it wouldnt do a single thing other than reduce your overall final XP score in the scoreboard, which is purely 100% cosmetic. it wouldnt reduce any of your skills nor would it prevent you from ranking up just as fast as if you hadn’t used it.

it’s not a punishment at all, so I support it 100%
