Well, like I said, I don’t intend to keep it a secret, please try this out and see if it works for you.

The syntax to ban someone based on his IP address is this:

pb_sv_banmask “10.0.0.1” “10.0.0.1” “name/comment”

The IP is obviously not correct and should be replaced with the IP address you want to ban, the “name/comment” part is optional and doesn’t have to be included. Don’t ask me why, but you need to include the IP address twice or it won’t work.

The resulting ban will look like this in pbbans.dat:

[04.16.2012 14:58:28] MASK10.0.0.1 “10.0.0.1” “10.0.0.1” drfunkenstein

Yep the ones on the OP were already listed on our banlist by their guid. The problem was multiple keys, the additional IP ban will keep at least one of them away. Unfortunatly the other one has a dyn IP, so we can only ban guid for now.

We had a player on by the name of vasabi2 on our server that looked rather suspiciously like aforementioned players.

We banned after investigating his GUID/IP etc…you can find out more here:-

If it is them maybe worth noting their current nicks etc

Oi Miller can you send me the pbguid of that account? Seems like a shared key or a proxy user.

can someone remind me, if possible- how to get a list of players guids while in game…

i know for my guid I would use printUserGUID…

but i dont how to get other players - again if possible… would be nice to have if one of these tards join our server under an alias…

afaik you can’t get the full guid ingame but only the last 8 chars with: pb_plist

We stream through Games-Violation & PBBan.

Off the 2, PBBan offers live server streaming that provides GUID/IP & other player details…but the bugger is down due to a DDoS attack.:eek:

I’ve never been able to find a full guid on PBBans unless it’s someone that’s a known hacker.

The full guid is stored in the server logs whenever someone joins your server but most server admins don’t have direct access to that. I know we don’t. You can built a history of players full pb guids by enabling alias tracking on your server or you can use Nigel to do the something similar.
